Definitive Pre-Sale Instructions.

Definitive Pre-Sale Instructions.

Definitive Pre-Sale Instructions.

I know some people are perturbed by folks asking about pre-sale ticket sales but I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find definitive answers to these questions. Can someone please tell me how it works, step-by-step. I have signed up for a newsletter, though I have never received anything. I’m in Little Rock, AR and I am wanting tickets to the Searcy show on April 2. Can someone please tell me what I need to do so as not to miss the small window of opportunity. If this repeats earlier info, I’m sorry in advance. You can pin this message at the beginning of the topic so everyone can find it easily. Thanks in advance!

Replies for this Board Topic

Everyone on the mailing list is supposed to receive every email notification. They tried doing it by area, but many of us are willing to travel well out of our zip codes to catch a show so that plan was abandoned.

Goober's reply was so complete, I am going to pin this thread as suggested. I hope any further questions/answers will stay succinct and on topic.

also, if the pre-sale says sold out, keep refreshing the page because it seems like tix are sometimes released in batches, so more will become available if you keep checking.

Try using a gmail email account. I have yet to miss a presale email, no matter what coast I've lived on. I can't say the same for my old yahoo.com email address.

If you only need 1 ticket, try refreshing the presale (today's) every 10 minutes (on the 10 minute mark). I think all of the 2 or more together ones are sold out, but I've checked every so often and single seats are being sold still on the 10 minute marks of the hour.

And unfortunately I have no idea how tomorrow's pre-sale will work.

I'm pretty sure you have to sign up for the newsletter/notifications at least a day before the presale date to get the notification. This last presale was the 26th, if you signed up on the 26th or later it was probably too late.

I don’t know were the original post about the pre-sale went, but this is how the process works:

Join the Avett Brother’s community by signing up and then sign the request to be added to the newsletter/ mailing list. It is through the mailing list only that pre-sale information will be sent.

As show dates are released, pre-sale passwords will soon follow. A pre-sale username and password is then sent out via email. The email will contain a list of shows that the pre-sale username and password is good for and the date and time the pre-sale tickets will go up for sale. Tickets usually go on sale at 12pm (local venue time). The pre-sale ticket purchasing process has to be conducted from the link provided in the pre-sale email. Once you get to the site, enter the username and password that was provided in the pre-sale email. You will then be taken to a page with a listing of the shows that are available to purchase tickets for. After selecting the venue, you will then be redirected to other page for the final purchasing process. After the tickets have been placed in your ‘cart’ and you have passed the captcha, you have 6 minutes to check out before they are removed from your cart and offered to other pre-sale buyers. Tickets must be purchased using a credit card. Also please be advised that ‘will call’ tickets are tickets that must be picked up the night of the show from the venue by the person who purchased the tickets. You will have to show proper ID in order to claim your tickets. Your name MUST match the billing name! If you are buying the tickets but someone else will be picking the tickets up, make sure the name entered in the billing info is name of the person picking up the tickets. ‘Will call’ may seem silly, but it’s a minor aggravation that is worth the even bigger aggravation that it causes ticket scalpers. More information regarding ticket purchasing can be found on the ‘Home’ ticket page that the pre-sale password and username will direct you to.

If you have not received any pre-sale emails, make sure that the emails are not being sorted as ‘spam’ or ‘junk’. You may have to click on ‘All mail’ to find the email. I would suggest going into your email settings and making sure that any ‘Avett’ addresses are marked as ‘not junk or spam’.

Remember:
* Tickets are available on a first come first serve basis. Pre-sale tickets sale out quickly.
* A username and password does NOT guarantee or entitle anyone to tickets.
* Be patient. You, along with many others are making a mad dash to the ticket site trying to purchase the same tickets. If you use the pre-sale, chances are you will encounter glitches and other technical issues. Ask the boys...turkey 'manure' happens.
* Most importantly…….Good luck and have a good time!

Well done. I have deleted several posts to make this thread a source of answers rather than questions.

Ok so presales go on sale 2morrow correct? And I have a better chance at gettin them w/ a g-mail acct, Cuz I don't get all of them and I would like to try an get 2-3 cities if possible.. I kno this is an answer thread I just wanna be ready, so if ya need to delete it it's no problem.. One last thing I HAVE gotten pre-sale e-mails, but only for 1 city.. on Avett's FB page it said all the upcoming dates were to go on sale tomorrow... I hope the username and p.words work for all the shows? Thanks.. Peace
AC

Yes. One email, same link, username and password takes you to the page where all the shows are for sale.

Do we know how many pre sale tickets are usually released? Has anyone bought pre sale tickets and were not able to go in early?

The email for each presale contains the number of presale tickets available for each show. Early entry is only granted to the first thirty presale tickets sold for a general admission show. Those people are notified about a week prior to the show.

Artist Arena presales and ticketmaster presales are two completely different animals.

Have all the pre-sale e-mails gone out already?
I haven't received mine yet Sad.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Look for it Wednesday.

The post directly above yours should answer your question.

Sorry for more questions...

1. For "will call" tickets, do you recieve a receipt of some kind upon ordering and paying for the tickets?

2. If the venue has reserved seating, are the presale tickets specific seats or is there a block of such tickets and presale buyers need to come to the venue on the night of the show and fight it out on a first come first served basis? In other words, will it be necessary to get to the venue hours before the show in order to get seats or will the tickets be completely reserved?

1. Yes. You should receive a confirmation email/receipt a few minutes after you buy them.
2. Reserved seating shows are just that. The seats you buy in the presale are yours and yours alone.

Help! I just joined this website a few days ago and I received a welcome e mail from Columbia Records. Two days later TAB announced a show in KC on July 26th with a pre sale on the 30th of this month. I have not received any e mails about the pre sale. What do I need to do assure myself of having a pre sale password by the 30th?

The presale password emails are normally sent the morning of the presale.

I wonder if the pre-sale newbies will read this far...if you have, then I've got some hints for you about pre-sale.

1. The email will come on the morning of the pre-sale. Here's the hint: If you signed up for the mailing list on this site, but haven't gotten any emails from TAB for any of the recent/previous pre-sales, you might want to check your spam or your spam filters. Maybe it gets caught and deleted automatically because the emails do come - you are not being singled out as the only non-email getter!

2. After you sign on to the pre-sale website and see the list of shows, you'll click the show you want. IT WILL SHOW SOLD OUT AFTER ABOUT 1-2 MINUTES. Here's the hint: DO NOT GIVE UP. Artist Arena sell pre-sale tix in batches, usually adding them every 10 minutes. Keep hitting the refresh button, and then keep hitting it some more. It may be 100 times or more, so if your internet is slow, go to a friend's or something on the day of the sale. The tickets do not sell out in 1 minute, not even for the NYE shows (I got my NYE tix at 20 minutes past the pre-sale open, for example)

3. If you get seats during the pre-sale that aren't where you want them you can risk putting them back and keep refreshing until the next batch arrives. Here's the hint: If you decline those seats and try for new ones you'll be into the next batch most likely, so be prepared to wait those 8-10 minutes. It's up to you.

4. Don't panic, don't get frustrated, and certainly don't go yelling at anyone on the boards if you didn't get your pre-sale tix. The rush you get when you're trying to get tickets is amazing. It's like 10 minutes of cardiovascular workout and a high all at once and you get yourself psyched up for the shows. If you get frustrated you may give up and you'll miss that feeling.

5. If you miss the pre-sale AND miss the regular sale to the public, then A) pay more attention to this site and TAB's Facebook page and B) don't buy tickets from resellers, unless it's a last resort. Here's the hint: The Tickets section of this board is always moving and shaking, and lots of people buy (pre-sale or regular) and then can't use the seats. And most folks here will only charge face value, or ask you to cover service charges etc. AA is getting better at allowing name changes, so we'll need a definitive answer on that...

**Note: I'm not affilliated with AA or TAB, this is just what I've noticed in my pre-sale experience. I can't guarantee anything, except a good TAB show, whether you're in row A or O or Z.

Excellent post, W.
