on Wednesday Biker night?

Replies for this Board Topic
I never saw or heard of them playing there. Every band I've ever heard on bike night there, was bad.
Hell, they may have though. Wouldn't suprise me. Just not that I can recall...

Beveryly - not that I know of.... I know Concord Mills opened in 1999 but I don't think that the Quaker Steak and Lube opened for a couple of years later - not positive though-
however, if you go up another couple of exits on 85 and head over the University area - you can head over to the Wine Vault which is where The Avetts used to play regularly on Thurs evenings out on the porch they have there....

Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!
Someone swore to me they played the Mt. Pleasant homecoming dance a few weeks ago. I can't believe how people can bald face lie like that. I know they were at the game, sure, but ...

they were recognized at halftime for there recent success... but no they did not play there. so who ever told you this only told you a white lie!!
I used to work in the Quaker Steak building back in 1996 when it was still Champps Americana. But that's another story.
Drew52Deal, when did they play Wine Vault? I worked up in that area for a number of years, late 90's into early 2000.

Stealing polished dimes...
kush - back in their early years - early 2000's - same time they were also playing on street corners and the Wachovia Atrium in downtown Charlotte..... A lot of my buddies used to see them up there a good bit, but all were / are good friends of the band, etc..... I believe Mr. Rehab saw them play up there a time or two and may have a pic ( but not positive)

I have a DVD of one of the sidewalk Wine Vault shows and I think the year is 2002. They even do a cover of John Denver's Thank God I'm a Country Boy. But I was not at any of those shows. I had not been clued in to the band at that time. I wish I had been.

dude i wanna see videos/pictures of the band when they were just starting out. (to see how their facial hair was then) the earliest videoi've ever found of them is from 2003 playing "swept away". anything older?

I still kick my self for not going to the Shows at the George Washington Bookstore and the Old courthouse theater years ago here in Concord. All because I thought the the guys from NEMO would never be good at acoustic music. I'm an ass.

They were at Mt Pleasant What-A-Burger #13 yesterday for a two hour meet-and-greet for all the local fans which was awesome. Thanks guys so much for helping me out, and I'm sure everyone else there appreciated your presence! Take Care.
Ahhh, G.W. Bookstore.
I remember trying to do slam poetry on open mic night, when I was too drunk to speak, much less stand still. I really miss that place.

Are you trying to kill me? Are you so cruel that you would say these things .... the times I've been in there and thought, any minute the Avett Brothers are going to just walk in here and order What-A-Burgers and Witch Doctors and yeah right! Don't tell me these things!!

Possibly. I went by Nasty Nate around here for a long time. I had a album floating around here around 5-6 years ago titled "Confessions of a Rhymebook". I'm sure we crossed paths at G.W. or somewhere else.
