it worked for Betty White (so i hear...), why not try it for the Avetts! Let's show the world how much the Avetts mean to us and how much we'd like to see them on SNL!! (only if the Avetts would actually WANT to do it of course).
I started a page on facebook to petition SNL to get the Avetts on SNL. let me know if you want me to send you an invite. 
feel free to post anything and everything about how much the avetts mean to you/favorite quotes, songs you'd like to see them play, etc.
Hopefully this really works...

When would be the date? the 25th? aww I just had to...anyways I'd love to see them on SNL...and it would be better if they did a non-ILY song so the world could hear it...think "Talk On Indolence" or "Pretty Girl From Cedar Lane". I also think they would participate in a sketch, they'd be hilarious.
Maybe this is silly, but for some reason I like the idea of them getting on SNL when it happens "naturally", and I am certain it will happen
at some point. I do appreciate the enthusiasm and support, however.

I would be willing to bet thjat efforts are allready under way to make this happen. but nothing wrong with taking some initiative and helping the effort.
