I gave to you my ugly brown coat, you made it pretty when you put it on....

four thieves gone

I get your number, with no kind of game

Famous Flower of Manhattan!

Very hard to pick just one, but I think I'll remain loyal and probably have to go with the one that brought me here...and that was 'Talk on Indolence.' It was the very first Avett song I had ever heard, back in 2006. Thank you Paste Magazine.

I wanna live, and I want you to live happy and free

I'll say either Indolence or LOL, LOL... but I also love Pretend Love and Matrimony... a couple that don't get much love...

Peace,
Worth

~~~Roll Tide!~~~
<3 matrimony
The Fall
DENOUNCING NOVEMBER BLUE! that song is so clever and funny.
I love famous flower of Manhattan, of course love left on laura left on lisa. Dancing days is really fun. I love the lyrics of a lover like you. and sixteen in july reminds me of when i first got my drivers permit. Nowhere to go, and it didn't matter. AGH what a wonderful album
Colorshow, Pretty Girl From Feltre, Talk On Indolence.
I'm like my grandma: short, but I stand tall, playing every card that's dealt to me. Some days are aces, and some days are faces, and some days are twos and threes.
Famous Flower of Manhattan, Colorshow, Distraction #74.
There are a few songs on there that I luuuuuurve, but can't listen to them b/c they bring up some yuck memories. Those three always hit the sweet spot, though. Colorshow is my go-to song when I'm running and feel like I can't take another step.
Will you forget when we have paid our debts,
who did we borrow from, who did we borrow from?
Famous Flower of Manhattan
Colorshow
Left on Laura, Left on Lisa
Matrimony
I'll see you in the morning time.
Talk on Indolence, its a hard choice, but that song is simply great
Talk on Indolence, Denouncing, Colorshow, Gimmeakiss, 40 East, Sixteen in July.....oh forget it!! the whole album is delicious!!
--
~an electric current moves us around, we sank to our knees to worship the sound~
Left on Laura, Left on Lisa...that's the song that made me a fan...
man, tough question.... but gotta say Talk in Indolence.... however a close second would be Denouncing November Blue, which is tied with Colorshow
--
Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!
I second 'The Lowering'
but really, depends on my mood. Colorshow for when I feel like being that obnoxious driver on the road. Totally rocking out Smiling
...if you’re loved by someone, you’re never rejected. decide what to be and go be it...
Baltimore, Philly. Come sooner!
Hmm. Just one?
Well, Colorshow, Indolence, and The Fall are my top 3...but if I can only pick one, then The Fall.
I find it impossible to choose. I love " famous flower..." and "denouncing", "Talk on indolence" and "colorshow" are also great. Can I choose the whole thing?
Colorshow, Indolence, Denouncing November Blue
Surprised that Heids is the only one to say Distraction #74. I love that song oh so much.
--
Carolina one day I'll, someday I'll come home.
Denouncing November Blue is my favorite, or walkin' in jelly shoes as my 4 year old would say, if I had to pick one.
Changing the plans that I’ve been setting on
I’m scared by the way that my life is getting gone
Famous Flower of Manhattan, then Talk On Indolence.
The Fall, of course (according to my sig) Cool
--
Please talk slowly I don't hear good any more. Cool
This is the only CD in my car right now. So we're listening to it *a lot*. I'd have to agree that The Lowering is amazing and powerful. What is the story there?
But LOL,LOL is my current fave. ...never letting go of your hand...
My 15 year-old would choose Pretend Love and Distraction as her favorites. She likes a clever lyric.
~spike~
why can't you see yourself as beautiful as I see you?
Denouncing Famous Flower the Fall the Lowering LoL,LoL Distraction Sixteen in July Colorshow Talk on Indolence. And the others too.
If i had to narrow, maybe the Fall, the Lowering and Talk On.
I’m walking with you,
I’m walking with you,
I might miss the meaning, but I’m catching the truth
nick.scott,
I can't speak for everyone else, but after hearing Distraction #74 at nearly every single show of theirs I've seen, I'd be hard pressed to pick it as a favorite anymore. It's a great song, I've just heard it enough times for now. Same with Paranoia in Bb Major. I don't really mind that they play those songs (nearly) every night, as it does showcase their core sound and energy for any newbies in the room.
I can't pick a favorite, Four Thieves Gone is my favorite CD of theirs *so far* and so I don't know if I could pick just one...But for arguments sake, let's go with LOL, LOL
"Hell has no fury like a woman; happy, scorned, or otherwise"
Oh yeah and gimmeakiss
--
I'll see you in the morning time.
After every post, I'm here shouting, "Me, too! Me, too!"
I'm going with LOL/LOL and Gimmeakiss.
--
"one with Earth and one with God"
Can't pick. Every time these questions arise, I usually don't post. It's like telling me to pick my favorite kid. If I had a gun to my head, I think I would probably say LOL LOL.
--
A live performance is a fleeting moment. A recording is a lasting work of art.
Left on Laura, Left on Lisa. It's one of the my favorite Avett songs, period.
Good question. I think this album might be my second favorite of their's. I'm going with Colorshow. It's raucus and beautiful.
We are the true believers.
trying to pick a favorite makes my head hurt. so I won't...
Distraction #74 and A Lover Like You
--
-Wence-
This is actually my least favorite album even though they have some great songs
My personal fav Left on Laura, Left on Lisa in a tie w/ Denouncing November Blue
Do the best you can and that wont go unseen
Colorshow.
4 thieves is my favorite album as well.
