I was 3rd row in the pit last night... here are some of my photos. Some are good, some not so good. But I'm proud of a few!
They were using a lot of red lighting which messed up some shots, so I apologize in advance for blurry/not all together pictures.
Enjoy!

if you go through your photos really quickly, you can see them dancing and singing...like a flipbook! totally awesome!!

It's not where I am, it's who I'm with...
Thanks for posting these! You got some really great shots. None of mine really turned out, but a couple of them are kind of cool in their own, psychedelic way.
It was such an awesome show! I'm so glad it's how I started the new year! Great pictures

I was just a few seats over from themissingavett, rocking out in the pit.
Hehe...I entertained myself with the flipbook effect for quite a while

Those are great. Did they use different backdrops for different parts of the set? Loving Scott's new banjo skin.

I'm like my grandma: short, but I stand tall, playing every card that's dealt to me. Some days are aces, and some days are faces, and some days are twos and threes.
thisheart--yes, it changed throughout the show--ship, teardrops and williamsburg bridge.

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.
For all the hardest roads we have to walk alone.
a lot of my Avett pics have been messed up by the red lighting......
last year The avetts played their first ( maybe second) at the Orange peel in Red shirts.... those shirts plus the red lighting made for some extremely horrible pics...
thanks for posting though

nate,

After quite a few pictures (and videos) ruined by the red lights I discovered that switching to black and white mode works pretty well. Here's a video of the encore in black and white. (now if I could only fix my problem of always getting seated behind the biggest dudes in the venue;)

I have no selfish memorandum...no confusion for me.
haha Filmthingy, i always have that problem too.
by the way, what kind of camera did you use to shoot that video?
filmthingy!!!!!!! Oh man, that is like the best fan shot video I have seen!!!!! Watching on full screen I felt like I was there again...I was too wrapped up to get my camera out much so I REALLY appreciate it! I am sharing it on my facebook so that everyone can get a glimpse of the live show experience! Wow, just wow....
Awesome. Glad you liked the video. I'm surprised it turned out as well as it did, it was the first time I used the camera.
lucas - I filmed it with a canon powershot SX20 IS
harmony - I was row A, seat 109.. the girls wearing the star head thingys were obviously having a blast, lol. I don't think they ever stopped moving.
pcgil - sent you an email.
nice pictures!
hahah if you click through 37 thru 57 really fast its like a flipbook
Nate, I tried really hard to resist the urge to go through all of your's and click the "Like" button. Really!
Thanks, themissingavett, for posting your's!

And you are correct...I'm pretty sure I did not stop moving the entire show. I did indeed have a blast. Nearly front row Avetts with my little sister? Heck ya.
Just to share: my sis and I refer to our star head thingys as "Doodle-y Bops."
I also apologize to anyone behind whose view/photos our headbands obscured! I really didn't think about it beforehand, so...I hope that no one was bothered. (Eeek)
I haven't watched your video yet, filmthingy, but I am going to when I get home tonight!
EDIT: ok I'm still at work, but I just watched it and I'm SO sorry! I feel like the video would be so much better if my spazzy head and fist pumps weren't blocking the view of the stage so much....
Cool. I thought they looked great, didn't bother me at all. imo they add to the video:)
That video is fantastic!! The best I've seen this year... Thanks for sharing this.
