Can someone educate me on friending people on the new board? I'm not asking for opinions about the new feature, because I think there's already plenty of discussion for that. I just want to know how it works; I figure I'll give it a shot since I'm pretty tired of Facebook and there's more people on here that I like than on Facebook, I'm sure. I see that I already have 2 friends, but I don't know how to see who they are. And how do I friend people already on the board? It looks like the invite friends option only refers to people who aren't on the board already...maybe?

click on their username and hit add me to friends. Watch mad bling be added to your...whatever the hell they're calling them....doohickies or something...

yeah, still don't get the friends thing. I have some, don't know who or how. Well, I guess I know how, but I also don't understand the point if I can't even see them or what friending means. I'm sure it will be explained at some point? you're all my friends as far as I'm concerned b/c even on FB, about 90% of the people I talk to/comment on are on here too at this point!

In my new quest to have eleventy-gazillion doohickies, I am now openly accepting all friends. And I won't use quotations around the word either, I promise!
My secret hope is that some day I'll be able to cash all my doohickies in for a private Avett show in my den....

This was tried a few years ago..but the price of the Avett's went up and it died. I'm in for trying again though!

As I was reading this thread on how to friend people, I started to click on people's names on this thread and found that everyone's Why I'm a Fan story is all the same on everyone's profiles. I spent a while last night typing up my little story about why I'm a fan. Took time to think about it and wrote what I thought was a pretty good story. I click on my profile and it's gone! It now says what everyone else's says. I'm ticked! And, like everyone else, I still don't know how to see who has friended you.
I was reading everyone's responses, and you all made me laugh so hard...just like old times on the old board. I'm definitely friending everyone in this topic. Even though this "ducketts" thing hasn't gone over very well, I think we all really can have fun with it, because it's not very serious. I'm planning on coming back strong with a zillion ducketts like Ozarkbilly.

$10,000 last I heard. Before the idea died last time, West Virginia was picked to have it because it was more centrally located. Grimey's is a 6 hour drive for me. Not saying that is too much, but something closer would be better for the Ohio folk.
oh no no I meant Grimey's was the last place I knew of near me that hired them so I was gonna ask the price, but I only live in nashville 3/4 of the year and the rest I live in Bmore, so I would not be opposed to having it around West VA either

yeah, def. going to the DC show--it's right across the street from where I work. Everytime I glance over at where the tourbuses go, I get really excited. I will be useless the day they come!
I also have front row, center right, Seth side. (great seats not related to working so close, just luck and getting on the presale immediately.)
Lisner holds about 1500 and it's pretty decent in that there are no really bad seats--the terrace (or whatever they are called seats) aren't separated from the orchestra in the usual way--they're just slightly up, as I recall. You should get your seats though, b/c I think the orchestra was gone within a week!

This thing is giving me the illusion that I actually have friends. I've friended so many people on here and they have no idea... heeheehee... (that means YOU, mom!)
it seems that there's a limit on the # of times you get doohickies in return for adding friends. Not sure what that limit is though, but the last 2 people I friended yielded zero doohickies for me.
