General question about scalpers...

I've been looking for 2 tickets to the Dallas show on 1/3/10 and haven't had any luck thus far. I've checked with tons of ticket brokers, cragslist, and so on and haven't found a reasonable price. I've never been to an Avett Bros show and I'm wondering if there are normally scalpers at their shows. I will be in Dallas that weekend so if there are scalpers I'm thinking about showing up at the Granada around 5:30 or so to see if i can luck up. Does anyone think this will be possible? Also, if anyone has 2 extra tickets please let me know bsshipp@gmail.com

Thanks

hmm im not sure, i would look on razorgator or stub hub, i got my nye tickets of stub hub for a reasonable price especially since its early entry

Unless the online prices are very reasonable, I would go to the show and look for fans with extra tickets. They are almost always available at cost or below.

I've never seen scalpers outside an Avett's show. Not yet at least, and Lord have mercy, I hope it stays that way. It's inevitabe though....
If I was local, I go there and try to find a fan with extras (Like Bob said). If not, Stub Hub.

I've bought and sold through StubHub several times and I have had great experiences with them. Yes, some tickets are ridiculously overpriced. I avoid those and won't attend the show if that's all that's available. Some sellers opt to reduce their selling price as the event gets closer. Keep checking back to see if you can get a better deal. I've never bought a ticket outside a show. Guess I'm too chicken.

I've definitely seen scalpers at a couple of Avett shows (including Asheville last year), but yeah, there are usually fans selling or giving away tickets, as well.

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.
