Head Full Of Doubt, Road Full Of Promises question

I love this song so much. I first heard it live on the Grammys last year. That's when I discovered the Avett Brothers. I have a 9 year old daughter who is dyslexic and it reminds me so much of her. Is this song about this. I love to sing it and play it on my guitar. I am planning on playing it in a talent show in January as a tribute to her difficulties and my own. Thank you Avett Brothers.

This was the first Avett Brothers song I heard, and I too first saw it on the grammy's. It's such a powerful, moving song for me. I never get tired of listening to it.
I may never know what the song is about, but sometimes I feel like it was written for me.
If you go to YouTube and type in the song title, you'see a pretty awesome video (made from paintings with still shots). There's also a video called "The Making of "Road Full of Doubt..." where Scott discusses the meaning of the song.
