I had Row A, Seats 1-2... was gonna buy them in case the weekend in Bristol didn't work out, but decided $75 for a pair was more than I wanted to spend on an "insurance policy", especially since I'm sure there are people here who would love those seats.
I'm jealous of your luck, but still satisfied with my tickets. Center section row C. Oy, I thought I was gonna' have some kind of nervous attack at 9:59 .
Hey Rows A and B, seats 13 and 14...I'm curious, are you tall?
I kept hitting refresh every 5 seconds and at 10 am on the dot, it was on.....
I know some folks at the coliseum and these were better seats than they could get me. So I'm thrilled. They wouldn't sell the fan club tickets to anyone other than the folks with the password.
I put best available and didn't get the pit. It also looked like you could get more than the previous listed limit. I figured the limit would be as far as you could go. The limit said 8, but I went with two. Guess it's an honesty type thing?
Sonya
The pit is in front of the stage and is three rows deep. There is a short wall that seals it off from the rest of the auditorium. It is indeed an orchestra pit. Drop me a note if you would like a seating chart that shows the pit seating.
I just went back to look and see how far back they are, and checked the limit too, and there's nothing to stop people from getting 8. I only got two, and with all the extra fees sure couldn't afford much more! $30 is fine for a TAB show, but Ticketmaster always gets you for more. Oh, well...I am so excited already about this show.
Yes, I learned AFTER the fact that you can purchase more than 2 tix on the site. Oh well, as the boys say: If I ever have a son, if I ever have a daughter, I don’t wanna tell ‘em that I didn’t give my all . . . I just want me life to be true...
:wacko:yeah, i've got a headache now, but at least I got a pair of sweet (if pricey) tickets. I had a pair about 10 rows back in the middle, but got kicked out for not knowing my ticketmaster password (I hate you tm!), and when I got back in, I got right-center row B, seats 1-2. Aisle baby!!!! Ticketmaster does NOT know what best available means!
Sorry to be the one to b**** but $75 for two tix. I'd rather help pete open the anvil back up for the price of that. That's nearly twice what I have pai to see the brothers before. Is it worth it yes. I'm I now broke ...almost. It just doesn't seem right.
I was soooo nervous. I didn't even need coffee this morning. I am totally pumped that everybody is getting good seats. Hat's off to Dolph, but also hat's off to Mr. Sunday Rehab and Mr. Bob Zimmerman. We bounced a few ideas off those cats behind the scenes and they helped us to form this idea and now here we all sit...grinnin' with "tickets" in hand. Congrats to all of you. We plan to have some fun.
not sure exactly where i'll be but i got Orchestra Pit Row CCC Seats 6-5 and the second two tickets I got are in the Orchestra Center Rows H Seats 2-1 for other message boarders that couldn't make the 10:00 ticket sale time...
About Ticketmaster...ticketmaster sucks in my opinion with all of the charges for handling, convenience(sp?), etc....but if you get on there at the right time you are usually gauranteed a decent ticket...i use ticketmaster on a regular basis and they are probably one of the more organized ticket companies around... the best way to deal with them, if you buy tickets on a regular, is to create an account with alerts for you favorite bands, log on to ticketmaster 2 minutes prior to ticket time, and then bring up the buying page and refresh every second at the ticket buying time...i've gotten some great tickets and some not so great tickets....just luck of the draw...
I think that Ticketmaster bullies venues and promoters, crushing competition. Without competition they are able to add such high charges that, if done by the man on the street, would result in an arrest for scalping. I find them evil in the way I find Clear Channel evil. Both are well run companies but, in my opinion, the world would be better off without them.
I take it OC is not the pit? My description says "seating in the orchestra center of the auditorium row D".
Sundayrehab, would you mind posting that seating chart?
Thanks!
I agree with you in regards of competition and bullying...they have definitely morphed into this giant of a company and aren't doing exactly what they initially wanted to do...however, i will say that they do perform a needed service and save bands, venues, etc. money in the long run which enables us fans to keep seeing them play..but they do kill the pockets of the "ordinary person"....
a lot of the bands i listen to have actually tried to start doing their own ticketing process in which they will give what you could call,"true fans," the chance to get a limited number of tickets through a website or call center...then the rest of the tickets are done through ticketmaster...
we wil have to deal with ticketmaster until bands, venues, etc. start doing it themselves and put a ban on ticketmaster such as what pearl jam has done....in the meantime i guess we'll just have to deal with it
I feel like an idiot. I sat there refreshing the browser starting at 9:55, waiting for the 'More Info' link to change to 'Find Tickets' like the others. Didn't click it till after 10:00.
I expect people will stand and dance, at their seats, during the rocking songs and sit and LISTEN during the softer songs. I am looking forward to a theater experience. I love the festivals and the club shows but the theater gigs are very special in my book. Personally I have always valued the music over the party and I hope this will be an opportunity to hear the music without battling hoards of drunks just there for the party. But that's just me.
hey guys, this is my first ever post! i'm in W-S for the summer, and am psyched about seeing the guys in greensboro (telluride was great!). what's the "fanclub presale" deal? i was unaware...but as i said, this is my first post.
...oh, and i've seen a bunch of stuff at the war memorial--they've actually all been theatrical productions. unless they've done major construction on it, there's seating up until about 8-10 ft. from the stage, where it's empty.
i suppose the theatre people could put seats up further if it was super-packed, but i'm not sure they could remove any. it's a nice venue; large-ish, but def not at the cost of intimacy.
Well, I assumed that since we have assigned seats it would be a sit down show, but, of course, we all know what happens when we assume...
And sitting isn't bad for an Avett show (God, I don't want to start THAT debate again, though, so I'm sorry if I'm stepping on anyone's toes with that comment). I had my first sit down show earlier this year in Richmond, and it was still a fantastic show. And let me say for the vertically challenged that it's also nice for people who are 5'4".
Here, here! You are echoing my exact feelings. I remember rooting for Pearl Jam years ago when they were taking on Ticketmaster, and of course Ticketmaster was not viewed as a monopoly and won. I actually won't be going to the show though, because of the surcharges. I knew playing Ticketmaster venues would come with time, but that doesn't mean I'm happy.
I am anxiously awaiting the return to Charlotte though.

My tickets are
Section: PIT
Row: CCC
Seats: 1-2
I couldn't find it on the chart...I assume they're up front since they are in the PIT section.
I'm jealous of your luck, but still satisfied with my tickets. Center section row C. Oy, I thought I was gonna' have some kind of nervous attack at 9:59 .

I know. I'm going to go have some Xanax now.
Luvmuffyn, I know exactly what you mean. My hands were shaking and my heart was beating so fast.
As I understand it, the pit is closest to the stage, holds about 80 people, and rows are identified with triple letters such as AAA.
I kept hitting refresh every 5 seconds and at 10 am on the dot, it was on.....

So, yes I got lucky for sure!!!!
Steve
Yeah, the pit is where the musicians sit during an orchestral performance. So those are top seats!
so bob, do you think that row CCC in the Pit is the 3rd row from the stage in front of the regular seats? That's what I assume (and hope) it means!!!
Those of you in the center section - does your ticket say OC(Orchestra) as your section? I am trying to figure out where my seats are. OC Row B 6-7
I put best available and didn't get the pit. It also looked like you could get more than the previous listed limit. I figured the limit would be as far as you could go. The limit said 8, but I went with two. Guess it's an honesty type thing?
I think that OC is Orchestra Center; that's what mine says...looks like you did okay!
From what I undersand, OC means Orchestra Center and ORC means Orchestra Right Center, etc.

I thought an orc was an ogre-like monster?
Hopefully the "Dissapointed about Presale" person figured this out.
Hmmm...well in that case I'm really glad I didn't wind up in that section.

i asked this in another thread (w/ no reply), but i guess if you joined after the pre-sale announcement you have to wait until fri. to get a tik?
i hoped the magical email would turn up in my in-box, but still nothing...
peace.

Sorry about ticketmaster...they are dirty fascists.
I still don't get why people hate ticketmaster so. I don't care for their practices but them's the breaks.
"The world loves a negative thought more than a positive thought." Albert Ellis
Heck yeah...was late to a meeting at work...but managed to get orchestra Pit CCC and then got some for friends on row H....
Thanks to all involved who made this happen and congrats to everybody who got tickets on here....
I'm with Pete on the Ticket Master thoughts.
They made my ticket buying experience unpleasent and expensive.
It doesn't have to be that way.
I'm still happy, I got my tickets and will be at the show!
So should ticket master be a 501(c) nonprofit agency or should they get a small cut?
Again, I don't like their practices either but its part of buying tickets for shows.
I'm pretty happy with the seats I got. I got Section: ORC, Row: H, Seat: 7 & 8.
Does anyone have tickets near me?
I'm really pumped about the show.
I hope I see some familiar faces there, and if not, it will be nice to meet some new ones.
Being on the boards really helped out big again.
Gotta love it. Hope to see ya'll there. Don't be afraid to say hello if you see me.

I dont know how to post it but would be happy to email it if you send me a note.
Drew,
Cool, well we will be on the same row (H) and 5 seats down from those tickets.
Maybe we can make it to the Blind Tiger before hand or after and hang out at the show.
Good stuff.

I'm in ORC Row D Seats 3-4.
Who are my neighbors?
WantedMan
Section OC, Row C, 9-10.
right in front of you wanted man. Row C seats 3-4
-Dirk Nowitzky & Ben Wallace:biggrin:
OC Row J, Seats 3-4

Hey! We are close! We've got 13-14. Who has OC 11-12?
And I'll ask again, OC Rows A and B 13-14...I know we're sitting, but how tall are you guys?
man i hope people aren't sitting during an avett bros. show....
can anybody shed some light if the war memorial is a sitting only facility??? man i hope not
I've only been for a seated event, but from that experience, it seemed like an odd place to try to stand and dance, save for the pit.

I'm sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes at the Raleigh show. Cheap wine is to blame.
Would Times New Roman be a better type setting? Comic Sans MS?
Anyone who uses Comic Sans should have their typing privileges revoked.
