House of Blues Boston October 14, 2010

The Avett Brothers performance, filled with emotion and energy, rocked Boston’s HOB tonight! We were all entranced by their stage presence, evoking a mutual love and enchantment throughout the concert. The exquisite harmony between the two brothers together with the unique combination of instruments, definitely rate among the best of the best music of this decade.
The concert was packed; the band played every song with such enthusiasm, as if it was meant exclusively for that particular show. The fans were always encouraged to sing and clap to the beat with them.
Some of their choices of songs were St. Joseph's, Bella Dona, Shame, I and love and You, Road full of Promise, Color Show, Kick Drum, Sanguine, Marriage, Laundry Room, And it Spread, Jenny and a Summer Day, and, January Wedding.... all my favorites!!!!
After the show, about fifteen of us waited out in front of the HOB, to greet the Avett Brothers. Joe came out earliest, then Seth, and, then last but NOT least, Scott. They were so friendly and polite to all of us. They all shared genuine conversations with each of us, kindly signed shirts, guitars, and, bandanas. Even though it was 1:00am, raining, and cold, they still generously spent about an hour hanging out. They certainly paced themselves cordially as perfect gentleman do. I am always impressed by their outward portrayal of humility and gratitude towards their fans. We and Love and You Avett Brothers. Thank you so much for the photos, I will cherish them forever. Smiling Until we meet again ... God bless ... Liz

I waited for about an hour then left at like 12:30..your killing me that they hung out with you guys and all I had to do was tough out another half hour..I had their manager get me some autographs but I missed out on Seth's . Wish I could have shaken the guys hands and told them that they are the absolute best in the business..maybe next time...

Awesome show. The set list was incredible! Perfect mix of old and new. Had a great time, hope they all come back soon!

Liz,
Thanks for sharing. So glad Avetts are popular "up north." I am also from Lynn, living in Richmond VA now. I am thinking of changing my user name to Pretty-old girl from Lynn, being a 58 year old groupie librarian-TAB have energized all of us with their kick-ass sound and thoughtful lyrics. The Charlottesville show was awesome. The highlight was definitely "Will you return" for the encore. This is in my top three and they have not done this at most of the shows!!!

That was an unbelievable show. The whole band didn't hold anything back. I would say they left it all on stage, but they had the energy, generosity and kindness to talk to some waiting fans in the wee hours, myself included. Hard to pick out highlights as it was amazing from start to finish, but 'Living of Love' was amazing, as was the rapt attention of the crowd during a gorgeous Bella Donna. Thank you so much for all, again and again.
