How many times have you seen the Avett Brothers in concert?

Replies for this Board Topic
25...haha. Sorry, couldn't help myself.
But seriously, 8.
I've seen them 5. Should have been six, but one got cancelled. Met them twice.

lildeadhead: that pen she uses to keep her setlists? it's a human-finger bone. dipped in the blood of the ones who yell out during "murder in the city". poetic, no?

Paint the picture that I swore I heard
Nine after Baltimore and Philly this week. An even ten now that I am adding Knoxville, thanks to an Avett Angel

Meanwhile, there's Scott's voice, one of the most emotionally naked in any genre, merging with Seth's more guarded intimacy to sound like angels arm wrestling and tears drying on a cheek
75 if you include one Darling concert.

10 after NYC and Boston this week -- already looking forward to #11 in Ithica in Feb! I hope to have some in between now and then, though...

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different, we love to talk on things we don't know about.
70, if you include the NEMO days... 60, if not...

Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!
heids--you got the Scott syndrome of spelling Ithaca wrong. (he did on one of the sketches that we saw at Envoy).
mauaahahahahahaha - thanks for the catch, Taryn. I think I actually knew how to spell it correctly but in my excitement, dumbness took over!

currently at 23 (I think), but I'll get up to 30 by year's end.
currently at 21, will be 28 by end of new year's run.
M--geez, I thought you saw them at least 20 times just this year!
7...and unfortunately it will still be only 7 at the end of the year...
ha-i know, when i see my actual number, it surprises me too.
though 18 of those 21 have been this year.
6 so far. should have been 7(i was at (L)Angerado when they couldn't make it). after the new year's run...9.
@ sunday and drew-
those are some admirable numbers!! WOW!

you've gotta get some kind of medal or ribbon or cake for that.
walstib--I also should have one more, no thanks to that tornado-out in SC last spring!
i feel patheic...3... 4 by end of the year...
9 for me...don't know when the next will be
I've seen them 4 times. The Huntington show will make 5. Don't know how many we will be able to attend here before long if they keep getting bigger and bigger.

I wanna have friends...that I can trust...that love me for the man
I've become not the man that I was.
29 by new years end...
My old man has seen them 9 times and still doesnt know who's who....and which ones are brothers. I tell em its the Asian and the guy with the long blonde hair that restrings the instruments.
Ha, Ouneek! Too funny! Stop messing with old people, now.

"one with Earth and one with God"
At 11, 13 after New Years!
What's the longest anyone has driven to see them? Mine was 1,100 miles round trip from Chapel Hill to Cleveland and back. After the show ended at 11 pm in Cleveland we drove straight back to CH because I had an 11 am class the nest day. That was a long night.
--
Carolina one day I'll, someday I'll come home.
nick - i've seen them in Telluride, CO, ORange beach AL, NYC, NY... but flew to all of those.... the farthest I've driven was from Concord, NC to Baltimore, MD...
--
Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!
Seven, not including the video shoot; with Knoxville and (hopefully) Asheville coming up. I don't even want to think of the times that I could have gone to a show, but didn't.
Oh and I turned around in Spartanburg last year because of the tornado in Columbia.
--
I'd rather shoot it out, bygod, than let them watch me hang!
.
24 for me, will be 28 by end of NYE run...
I've driven from from Alabama to Asheville, Charlotte, and Cary before... All 110% worth it.

"I want to get back all the hopes and the dreams that I had
That the good lord above us can spare."
i think i win the driving competition, but i also think i'm cheating a little bit...i drove from new haven to los angeles, then up from los angeles to portland, then portland to st. louis for shows...i was gonna do a road trip anyway, but i tailored it for the shows, city and date-wise.
aside from that my next longest trips were new haven to indy and nashville, boston to charlotte, and NYC to toronto. i think my car's seen nearly all the shows i have, and i think NYE will be the first car-free avett trip. he'll be so jealous. it's okay, i'll bring him back a new sticker.
Awesome. This wasn't a drive, but I saw them at Coachella, in the desert in California. That was a cross country flight so that was far. Haha. It was also really hot, 110 degrees during their set. Yowza

Carolina one day I'll, someday I'll come home.
Man, I love the idea of an Avett-themed road trip. I've only seen them 4 times so far, though I expect that number to be much higher by the end of their midwest run in 2010.
the farthest i traveled for them was a train ride from tampa to cary. don't know how many miles total roundtrip, but it was about 15 hrs. travel time each way.
i enjoyed it.

"We took a pickup, a tent, and a shotgun," recalls Scott. "We went out thinking it was a wild frontier."
.
5 is all (Portland x2, Des Moines, Minneapolis, and Omaha).
Living in South Dakota sucks!!!
I feel like such a kid, I'll have been to two by next Saturday
Since I'm still in high school, my mother won't let me go to shows alone, and since none of my friends are into TAB, that can be quite a problem...I dragged my boyfriend to my first show, because it was my birthday present, and now on Saturday I'll be dragging my best friend, who's quickly becoming a convert >:]

careful not to say that i don't care, or haven't, or can't, or will not again.
12 so far, the Ryman show will be lucky #13
Only 2 so far, will be 4 after NYD.
In Tampa I met someone from S. Florida that had been to over 40 shows. I'm assuming she's on the boards. She was so friendly and really helped my first "in the pit" experience to be awesome. There were several folks that night that made the night memorable. I was on Seth's side and towards the end of the show we were within 2 folks of touching the stage. Really an amazing time considering that there was no pushing and I wasn't try to get to the front. Just kind of happened.
...waving hello if you're here!

25.
28 at year end.
Lot of fun, lot of credit card debt.

Things change and get strange with the movement of time, it's happening right now to you.
Only 3 so far! (Chattanooga, Charlotte, Augusta). #4 will be the Atlanta show, unless by some miracle we get NYE tix. Hoping to vastly increase my # in 2010!
I drove up to Ohio on two seperate occassions to see them play (and go to Cedar Point.) My biggest driving feat was last year in Nashville though. The mileage wasnt so bad as the drive itself. I had just gotten my wisdom teeth removed a day or so before the show and made the trip chipmunk style...I also got a speeding ticket on the way back home to help ease the pain.
same as max

25 currently.
28 by year's end.
30 if you count the cle and chi spring shows we're buying tix to tomorrow.
the farthest we drove was from cle to the koko booth show in cary. but the farthest i've gone to see them is LA (via airplane). i was lucky enough to be there for work one time when they were playing at the el ray.
Any body else at the WV shows were it was snowing on the mountins early April 06
thefaith--maybe it was mellybean?
the farthest I've traveled was NJ to North Carolina, and I've done it twice, and I'm probably going to do it a third time in December.
This weekend T5 will be 9 and NYE will make an even 10 ( assuming nothing happens in between)

" The day will come, the sun will rise and we'll be fine "
13 by NYE. 2 at the start of 2009.
44 times after Baltimore and Philly.
