I only got 6 too Jennifer - if you look at the rules, it says 5, not 10.
ETA, I can't get it to show up as my status - it only posts to my wall. I'll have to look at it more tonight...v. frustrating.

i dont understand... do i put their full name as it appears on facebook or just their first name after the @ ? i just want to do it right.
Also, if you do the Facebook and the Starbucks thing, does that enter you twice??

I can not get this to show as a status update. It will only post on my wall. Also "The Avett Brothers" is not showing up as a link to their page. I think these things are key to entering. Facebook stinks.

I finally got it to show up as a status update. I crossed out the picture that shows up w/the link. Now I can't get "The Avett Brothers to be a link. I tried @TheAvettBrothers @The Avett Brothers. Not working. Frustrated. We are sick. That's all.

It is showing as your status for me? Also, I had the same issue with linking the Avetts at first, but I just erased what I had copied and pasted, then started typing @The Avett Brothers and their page came up underneath for me to click on and tag them. Are you a fan on FB (I can only assume the answer to that question is yes)? Maybe that's why you can't tag them? I dunno.
But I think you are right in thinking this is key. They will be getting notifications on their FB page that they've been tagged and that's how they'll pick the winners.

Linda, yours is working but I can't see yours Heidi.
Type it out from the homepage instead of your profile page. Those always show up as status updates for me.
I really wish I could go to this, but it's impossible. I'm a little bummed that there won't be an instore near NC close to the release, but oh well. Maybe next time.

I wanted to clarify the details for the 9/29 NYC Release Day Event Facebook ticket contest
To enter to win a pair of tickets you need to update your Facebook status with the message below and "@" tag 5 or more of your friends in the message.
The way the new "@" tag feature works is that you type "@" in your status update and enter the first letter of a friend's name you can then add that friend to your status update (works similar to @tagging a user on Twitter).
Here's the message to update your Facebook status and "@" tag 5 or more of your friends:
