If I Get Murdered in the City

No, not available on any release...but it gives us all something to hope for on a future record!Cool(lucky for you to hear it live-maybe this weekend for us?)

Thanks for the info. I'll consider myself lucky that I got a sneek preview...enjoy the show!

Just wanted to throw something in here - Murdered in the City is one of the best songs I have heard from the AB. The first time I heard it I couldn't BREATHE! Unfortunately, I only heard it on YouTube, but I will be at the New Years show so I am crossing my fingers to hear it live there! If any of you haven't heard this clip yet, you need to!!

hope that link works!

yeah, that is a pretty song...my wife and i cried like little babies when they did it in Ithaca-As much as i enjoyed them, none of the youtubes prepared me for seeing it in person. it was pretty close to a religious experience for us, 'cause i have 6 brothers and we just lost our mom a year ago. i'd be lying if i said this song (and a few others) hasn't helped with the healing- one more reason to love their music!

hey, anyone know where I can score a copy of the song "if i get murdered in the city" - I heard it in NY last month and need to get a copy somehow!

That's an unreleased song, but if you dig around, you might be able to find an mp3 of it.

Here's a vid from the Orlando show that was just posted on YouTube

"No need to get over alarmed I'm coming home"

This vid just went live on YouTube; it's from Seattle's Bumbershoot festival. Cool

That was great! Thanks for letting us know it was up Smiling

I've been searching for this song since I heard it live in Asheville. I'm 59 and my daughter's 19 and we both were left standing with tears running down our faces. Can't wait to hear it again. Could it possibly have been that good?

Cool
Yes.

The first time I heard the song, I was SPEECHLESS. After listening to it once or twice, I wound up getting a weird butterfly-type feeling. It was amazing. I love The Avett Brothers. <3

I know exactly what you're talking about. This song live is incredible, and now whenever i listen to it I get chills

Heard this song for the first time at Variety Playhouse in Atlanta (March 2007), right in front of Scott - who was alone on stage with a spotlight.

I could not keep the tears from streaming, and it is still - no matter how many times I see him sing it - one of my favorite Avett memories.

absolutely beautiful song.
i took one of my friends who hadnt heard of the avetts before to the last show i went to. scott started singing and my friend started crying.
just a perfect song.

The quality on this one's a little bit so-so, but it doesn't have a ton of rude hootin' & hollerin' from the crowd. Audio source is a YouTube vid from the Wilmington, DE show in November.

edited to say "Is posting that link a no no?" It's available to anyone online already, I'm just saving y'all the work by posting a link like that.

that download just made my day! thanks

I cant wait until this is on an album... and until i see it again live. wow
