Hey jessdad! Missed you tonight! Yeah, technology conspired against me and messed up the order.

I'm glad you confirmed it.

And, just to be clear, it was a fantastic show.

yes it was a fantastic show. i pretty much died when i heard, hm, half of those.

Good lord, you guys got one hell of a setlist! Shocked Were they inspired as they plowed through the snow? I'm in awe of this setlist. A great reward to all of those that braved the weather to be there! I hope everyone got there and back safely!!!

P.S. Have they played F&S's Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms before?!?

Wow...that is a damn good set, I've never seen backwards with time...
Did Seth do Langhorne's Mary by himself?
So how did they play Rolling in my Sweet Baby's Arms ?

Ugh I really hate missing shows especially ones I had tickets to...

hehe that's my video. I put it on youtube a few months back to get a little better quality. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUT6GGrlitY

Ohio...the Heart of it All

Oh, man, if they keep up the precedent set by these first two shows, it will be well worth our group of Pittsburghers traveling to the depths of Cleveland tonight!

They have covered Rollin many times, but it's been a while. Definitely a gem!!!

Wasn't Jim ALSO playing a F&S song around that same time in the night? I wonder if they planned that one?

did anyone get PGFA + Mary on video?

decide what to be and go be it.

this was only my second (of soon to be many many) TAB shows, but i appreciated every minute. I was proud to recognize ever song but down with the shine, rollin, and wanted man. so happy to get living of love and ballad of love and hate. really wish the boys came north more often, if i could afford the time and money to travel around seeing them i totally would.

Hey Yankee! Seth played Mary by himself, just the first verse, short but sweet. And Roll in my Sweet Baby's Arms was done really well. The drummer used brushes, thankfully, so it wasn't too heavy. Sucked that you couldn't be there, though. Hopefully this summer.

I have to spiffy up the set list now that I'm home.

ETA: Hmm, maybe not, I don't want to start a new thread, I just want to edit the original post, but the options make me nervous. I'll try with this one....

Btw, I hate captchas with a passion. They must go.

Yankee, they played it like their balls were on fire!

which, by the way, is the only way to play it.

Was Mike on drums?

ummmm....I'm not sure. it's not really a song that needs a drummer, being traditional bluegrass, but he may have played on it. someone else will have to chime in. He didn't stand out really. which is good. I liked that he played on The Perfect Space, so Scott could stay on Keys. but overall, he looked like we were keeping him from something. maybe he was nervous (as someone else suggested to me), but he mostly looked bored, which I can't imagine when you're playing behind these guys. so it must have been nerves. He did a great job!

The drummer was Jacob Edwards from the Midnight Shivers, apparently. He was used sparingly. And yeah, he was on the brushes for Sweet Baby's Arms. If you have to have drums on that song, brushes are the only way of doing it. Unless it's a punk version.

I would have thought that playing with your balls on fire would have involved more screaming. Maybe if you do it night after night you get used to it. Each scar makes it harder to hurt again.

"but overall, he looked like we were keeping him from something."--haha, that's a good way to put it. he did look bored--maybe it was nerves, but it sure looked like bored. maybe with time they'll develop some sort of rhythym (hehe) together, but at least for the Ithaca show, I can't say it added anything for me. BUTTTTT, I sure did love seeing Scott on keys for Colorshow--esp. since they played it (in his words), "slow and sweet."
Did anyone else notice that it looked like Scott almost got up from keys right before Part 2 of Perfect Space, but then stopped himself?

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.
For all the hardest roads we have to walk alone.

KC- you're right, maybe I overshot on that one...but the phrase came to mind and I just had to use it.

Chilixx- yeah, I saw that too (perfect space). I have to say that I've always liked seeing Scott run from keys to kit and back, but it was great to have the fuller sound for those few songs.
