The Avetts are playing in what I would consider my hometown (Huntington, WV) on October 29th. I've watched several movies at the Keith Albee, but I haven't seen it since they've converted it into a theather. I'm completely stoked. Anybody know if this is going to have some GA tickets or if its all seated?

My friend at work doesn't believe there is any general admission. After the crowd in Columbus, that definitely works for me!!
Can't wait for this. I saw the info about the presale. Is it like al of the other presale shows, or will there be a new page to go to? Haven't received an email about the Huntington show yet.
They're supposed to be sending an email out tomorrow morning about the presale for the 3 new shows.
Why not keep this info on the "down low" to increase the chance of us getting better seats.

it is being advertised on facebook, it popped up on the side of my page about the presale, which kind of annoys me, because i thought presale was for email list members only!!!

No!!!! They finally come back for another WV show and I can't make it.. Virginia Tech plays UNC that Thursday night in Blacksburg.. ah......
I am going to be very upset with Tess if she doesn't get great tickets....lol
I can't even begin to understand how someone could miss an Avett Brothers show that's that close to home for a football game. 20 years from now, which do you think you will cherish most?

That's easy! The concert.. But there are other variables... It's a thursday night and Huntington is about 4 and 1/2 hours from where I go to school.. With class the next day that would be pretty tough.. After the game I can just crash and be ready for class the next day..
Also, you don't know how big Virginia Tech football is for me.. I've only missed 2 home games in the past 9 years for unavoidable reasons..
But anyway.. If all things were equal and I had to pick between an Avett concert and a football game.. I'd probably pick the concert.. If we were playing a bad out of conference team.. I wish that were the case..
I hope there will be some GA tickets, but if not I hope to get good seats. This will be the first time I'll get to see the Brothers in my own state (and my second time overall... ha) and I couldn't be more excited. For the presale, will they send an email with a link? The ticketmaster site says presale at 12 while this site says email list presale at 10. Just curious, I've never preordered tickets before.

i believe 10 am is for the email list and noon is public. i would also bet that the tickets sold through email list and this site are better than those being sold on ticketmaster, but i could be wrong.

It says the presale begins at 10 so I would assume the email would come before? Maybe not....
I think it means the presale for email. I'm not sure though.
Edit: Yeah it says Pre-sale for these shows will kick off tomorrow, at 10 AM, for everyone signed up on our email list.

I can't come down on you for missing a show because of a football game. I would do the same thing if Ohio State was playing!
I've been going to Ohio State football games since I was 4. I will be watching that game you are going to on TV!

lamar- That's awesome. I would love to make it to the 'shoe for a game someday. I hear Ohio State games are pretty wild.
Again, it's a very tough decision.. But there isn't much that beats a Thursday night game in Blacksburg, VA. Not in my books atleast.
hokiehi, i understand where youre coming from. I'm a HUGE alabama football fan and plan my entire fall around saturdays so def understand your dilemma. You might want to buy tickets anyway just in case there is crappy weather at the UNC game so you can drive to WV and enjoy the show as a backup plan.
That's a great plan, except weather wouldn't stop me.. haha nothing a few beers can't fix..
In fact, two years ago during the Thursday night Boston College game(Matt Ryan TD pass to win) it poured the whole game. It was freezing.. My phone was in my pocket wrapped in a bandanna but still got soaked and broke.. Nice to see a couple Alabama fans on here though.. I know of one other Hokie on the boards.. Good luck September 5th.

I'll probably make it down to VT when Marshall plays you guys. We typically lose against the big schools, but that's okay... I'll still travel for the tailgate scene. To be honest, ECU has been my favorite pre-game tailgate, which is completely unrelated to the fact that the Avetts (or maybe just Scott?) attended ECU.
Good to hear you enjoy the East Carolina tailgate, Footstompin. It's a cool scene. Scott did indeed graduate from ECU, though Seth certainly spent a good deal of time here as well (he graduated from UNC Charlotte).

I even get goose bumps when the Hokies run out of the tunnel with Metallica going!
Ohio State has a home and home seriers in football with Va Tech coming up!

Well I tried to start a college football thread a while back. Didn't go very far. But that series should be exciting... I don't think we've played a big ten team since I've been watching Tech football.. Our schedule is absolutely pitiful the next few years so it's nice to see a top tier team one there.
ECU is a great tailgate scene.. Great fans too.. I love the series we have against them..
footstompin, come on down. hope you have a great time.. Tech fans can be very nice, but just like anywhere else there are some rowdy ones.. If you walk around the alum parking lots(old people) you should feel very welcomed and they'll probably even offer you beer and food. You're welcome to crash on my couch if you'd like.
Aagh! I can't believe I missed the presale! I'm gonna have to wait for Friday's general Ticketmaster sale! And I need to bag 7 tickets for my own little Charleston WV Avett Bros gang!

I figured I'd finally have to click on this thread and see what all the talk is about this Keith Albee guy,,(haha, I know it's the venue)...and was pleased that there was some college football talk going on. The season is so close I can almost taste it!...Anyway, just wanted to pass along my best wishes to Hokiehi22 and his team when they play Alabama in Atlanta. Man if you all can pull that one off, I would be extremely grateful.
Anyway, that's it. I have nothing to offer on this show, so I'm sorry.....well, other than I would love to be there!

Hmm... Sounds like you might be an Auburn fan..? And I think the game is a toss up.. Espn is going to hype both teams up and will be a little overrated in the preseason rankings.. We both have a lot to prove with our QB situation and Bama replacing key players..
