The Orange Peel will be rockin' 4/16 AND 4/17!
It's a great excuse to slip off to the mountains and (hopefully) enjoy the spring weather. Also, Merlefest 2 weeks later. Sweeeeet.....

Before we all get too excited, he is just opening for Drive By Truckers both nights, right? I have never listened to them, but have heard good things. Either way, I will go at least one night to see Langhorne. Plus, the Peel owes me a free show for handing out some flyers, and this would be a good time to cash in.
Oh really - just opening? Hrm. Well, I may not drive 4 hours (not a fan of DBT necessarily).

Yeah, the Avetts opened for them in Baltimore in 08. We'll probably go see the Langhorne show in NYC in april, but I'm gonna give the DBT a pass. Was not into them.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different, we love to talk on things we don't know about.
Ahhh, you are correct. I was under the impression he was only opening for them for 3 or 4 shows. But yeah, it's all of April.
But, I dig DBT. This may narrow it down to one night, but I'll still be there.
I'm gonna edit the heading to this post....

if nothing else pops up - i'll definitely head that way....
not a huge DBT fan here either, but would love to see some Langhorne... Thanks for the heads up

Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!
Glad I'm not the only one here who's not much of a DBT fan. Love me some Langhorne but think I'll save the gas and ticket money for a headlining show later on.

I'm always up for seeing Slim and will be driving down to Lexington in April. (After we go see the Reds play the Cubs that afternoon in Cincy) But I'm not really into the Drive-By Truckers, a little harder than my taste. Who knows maybe we'll just watch Slim and take off. Haha, how many people jet after the opening band? But I'd be interested to find out how much he's going to be playing as an opening act. Is it going to just be a couple songs like when he opened for Patti Griffin, or will it be a full set? If anyone does head out to one of his shows with the DBT , please post back and let us know.
i'd guess probably 40-45 minutes.
