Million Dollar Idea / If, or should i say WHEN I win the upcoming Mega Lotto
Started in the Omaha setlist thread - i was originally thinking that if I win the lottery this week, would put together a tour bus full of msg boarders and follow our favorite band around the country, was accepting applications. Didn't realize just how many would throw their hat in, and don't know if we have a bus big enough to accommodate (2 buses maybe?) anyway, they it hit me - why not just bring the band to me? for a weekend? a week? then it evolved into why just TAB? why not TAB + friends? AVETT PA-LOOZA is born! the Rothbury music fest is held about 45 mins from my house - stages and campgrounds are already there. The whole Ramseur family of artists would play, as well as Langhorne, Regina Spektor, Sallie Ford, Jason Webley, Holy Ghost Tent Revival....would it be a stretch to ask Doc Watson? maybe even Earl Scruggs? of course our boys would headline every night. I might need a few more people for this endeavor - any ideas? any other artists we need to include?

i claim crowd control...aka being in charge of making sure everyone brings in an item from a list of our choosing to share with friends. some items from said list include beer, baked goods, bbq's, kiddie pools, musical instruments...

Count me in. I don't know what I can contribute, except an ear to ear grin.
Oh, I'm pretty decent at finding and posting articles, so I'll just go about getting the word out with my "web bits".

At the end of the set, the old man who was going to be behind the wheel for the long haul home said, "Boys, that gave me God bumps."
I wanna be the MC. Like Wavy Gravy at Woodstock.

I can play guitar in a cover jamboree that includes strictly songs that TAB do not play anymore, or rarely play live. Maybe it would encourage them to dust a few off?
I think TAFKAM's job should be sh!t eater....

I'll see you in the morning time.
I am skilled at a handful of useless & unnecessary things, but I make a mean Sangria and am a hard worker (everyday).
Bobz,
You used to, but it no longer notifies me anymore so it's kinda hard to tell.
i love this dream & don't wanna wake up! it'd be awesome if dogs were allowed (perhaps a spring or fall month so nobody gets too hot in the sun)...if such a position became available, i would be honored to (wo!)man the grill at mealtimes & the bonfires at night. i'm a therapist by trade, but somehow it seems my services wouldn't be needed at a gathering like this
i'm gonna go water the money tree in the backyard!!!!! can i get a hells yeah!?!?!

But that's besides the point... I'M IN! I will happily make the trip from southern California and I'll bring anyone else who wants to road trip!
Oh and HELLS YEAH!
My friends, that idea is gooder'n hell!

I can ollie over people. we will make money by recreating that picture of seth jumping over scott while he is playing the banjo.
I'll take the Stage Manager position... but i don't want to have to do too much - just really want a good spot to watch all of the music.... i can run errands and stuff, while the music isn't going on
If i don't necessarily meet the requirements set for Stage Manager, i'd be happy to take the position of Festival Fun Extraordinaire... in which I'll just make sure that everybody in attendance is having fun and thoroughly enjoying themselves...
i know these sound like tough jobs - but I think I'm just the person for it

We try to not be afraid to let the song become what it’s supposed to,” says Seth, “and to not be held within the bounds of people’s expectations because we are who we are, and we get to decide what we’re supposed to be
sorry, misquoted - it's $252 TRILLION DOLLARS (cash option = measly $159 Million) (yes, uncle sam sam would take that much off the trillions...)
here are how you come up with your numbers, from the official site....
How To Play
Mega Millions tickets cost $1.00 per play.
Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers - five different numbers from 1 to 56 and one number from 1 to 46 - or select Easy Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.
What if you win the jackpot?
Annuity option: Provides 26 annual payments. For every $1,000,000 in the jackpot, you will receive approximately $38,500 per year before taxes.
Cash option: A one-time, lump-sum payment that is equal to all the cash in the Mega Millions jackpot prize pool.
In addition to the jackpot, there are other prizes ranging from $2 to $250,000

so, I've been waiting to add our (Addicted and mine) talents and this is what I've come up with, you'll need someone to type some sort of schedule and post it. This will be our job, and quite easy as far as I'm concerned! Avetts every night beginning at 7 and ending at 11/12. Everyone else, claim your spot, somewhere between 1 and 7!!
all great ideas - thx for the input - please keep it coming - and should we make this open to the public and advertise? or just one giant private party for our msg boarders/team avett/avett nation/ramseur family?

Jen, could you please get everyone on a bus, or a plane? i'm thinking of also putting down track all the way around the venue for a kids train. by night it could become the mandatory beer-express w/conductor Jim Looney. Stops include the stage(s), food & bev area to say hi to TAB_Z and Manderfrog. The Sangria tent will be headed up by Mrs Cookhouse (could you have cupfulls ready for the train as it passes Jen?) and of course the VIP Sexy Lounge - MCJerry & Angi, could you bounce for that please?
Drawing is tomorrow night - cross your fingers.

Are the shows taking place in tents? It doesn't matter, but wherever they are, I think that there should be sofas for enjoying the show (although I'm sure I'd be standing). I've always dreamed of a venue filled with sofas...
Would Margo or Nemo make any surprise appearances? What about DMB or Widespread? Will the everybodyfields get back together?
I like this idea, God-willing this comes to fruition
i think margo will open for nemo, and nemo wil open for OWAN, and OWAN will warm the crowd for bob performing as a one man band. i'm not sure how one plays guitar, trumpet, and upright bass simultaneously, but i can't wait to find out.
xavier rudd plays guitar, percussions, and didgeridoo all at the same time. It can be done.
