My friend is running in Nike's Womens Marathon in honor of Hallie Crawford

My friend, Pam, lost her sister to cancer. Every year Team Nancy, which consists of Nancy's sisters, run in the Nike's Womens Marathon. This year they will raise over $25,000. I was telling Pam about Hallie Crawford and unbeknownst to me, Pam decided to put Hallie's name on her race shirt and will be running in her honor. I just wanted you to know. Pam is not a huge Avett fan like i am, but she knows the devastation of cancer and will be thinking of Hallie on race day.

Wow. That's really really sweet. I've had friends put names on their shirts when running marathons, and it's a really powerful gesture. And it's still in keeping with the low-key themes talked about in the other thread. Good for your friend.
Oh hey how cool! I'm running the NWM too! I too will definitely be thinking of Hallie and all those struggling with cancer during the 26.2 miles.
