Nashville Locals, help me out

I'm planning a trip to Nashville over Spring Break to visit Vandy about grad school, so I wanted some advice on good places to visit while I'm there. What are the best bars or places for live entertainment? local restaurant faves? Any input would be much appreciated!

Gosh where to begin.
Definitely go to 12 South Taproom. TONS of beer and some good eats too (hip neighborhood as well - near Belmont)

Pizza Perfect on 21st Avenue for some delicious pizza (right across from Vandy so you could go for lunch or dinner).

Yazoo Brewing for some tasty Nashville-brewed beers (taproom available for tasting)

Lots of people enjoy Margots in East Nashville (just dont wander around by yourself late)

For Music, check the schedules for the following places:

or wander down Broadway to one of the several bars there.
The Frist Center sometimes has nice art exhibits
If you go to Pizza Perfect, it's a short walk to the Dragon Park

About one block from Pizza Perfect is Hillsboro Village - lots of eclectic shops, restaurants.
Most people will tell you to go to the Loveless Cafe. Which, I guess it IS a landmark, but I've never found the food to be really all that great.

Pancake Pantry is another iconic restaurant. Usually a LONG line to get in. However, the sweet potato pancakes are pretty gnarly I will say.

Oh, and if you happen to be there a night that Doyle and Debbie are playing the STation Inn - that's a pretty funny show to take in

I second 12 south Taproom...my friend owns that place and he's a great guy! Also second on the Station Inn... and if you are a burger and dive bar kind of person you should check out Brown's Diner or Rotiers. Also check out Grimey's on 8th ave for records.
If you go to lower broad... I would stick to Tootsies or Layla's Bluegrass Inn
Wow, thank you so much! I'm so excited for my trip now! I think I'm going to have to stay a couple extra days to soak all of this in!

Thanks again for your help!
Is Nashville a driving-friendly town? Or should I just try to go to places within walking distance of Vandy? I've only been a couple times, and that was in high school on one of those ginormous charter buses.
I hope I get a chance to try out all of these places! If not over spring break, whenever I go to school there in the summer...

I did not see it mentioned here, but a great great place for pizza is Mafiaso's (?SP?)
ya it's pretty darn easy to drive around in
mafiaoza's is pretty good (though i prefer pizza perfect) and is on 12 South - pretty much right next to 12 South Taproom so you could try them both out over 2 days if you liked.
