Went looking for the HFODRFOP video and I couldn't believe my eyes when I read this!!!!
The Avett Brothers are currently on tour in support of I And Love And You. The band also plans to release a new CD and DVD set of live performances on Oct. 5 called Live, Volume 3.

and about to watch the new video--wonder when they'll officially announce this? or was this it? I feel like there would be a bigger deal, as in HUGE made about this. It's NPR, so I'd say it's probably true, right?

I keep shoes on from the time I wake until the time I go to sleep. I was in a fist fight once, back in high school, and I was wearing flip-flops. I found it difficult to defend myself without shoes on, so I always keep a pair on now. Just in case.
Oh my! What a beautiful video, very fitting for one of my favorite songs on the album.
And I am completely overjoyed about the DVD/CD announcement. Even if they did bury the lede.

Yup - that little line at the end of the article took me by surprise. Based on the way that it is written, they imply that the CD and DVD will be bundled and released together on October 5...
Already checked Amazon, no info on this yet...

Pretty sure the DVD will be from Charlotte Bojangles show last August. But would love a BUNCH of Crackerfarm behind the scenes!

I'm pretty sure the live dvd is all Bojangles (so no Crackerfarm), but it was beautifully shot, and I'm not sure about the cd--maybe the same since they are bundled. kinda wish the cd was a different show, just so we'd have variety, but I'm happy either way!

Well he's got to do something with all that footage, doesn't he? I wouldn't rule out a Crackerfarm contribution just yet...unless you know something the rest of us don't, Chili?
It's all speculation right now but I bet we are pleasantly surprised. I doubt it'd just be a video of the show and *nothing* else.
If the boys have any say in the packaging (as they did with I&L&Y), I bet there's some cool stuff included. They definitely have made an effort to take care of us when it's time to give up the goods. I suspect this will be no different.
Wonder why there's no announcement about it on the page yet.........watching us drool for more, eh?

My advice is simple: experience these artists.
More info on the news page now - there will be interviews with the band and with fans. Wonder who the lucky fans will be.
Now to decide, which package will I go with? Right now, I'm caught up in the moment and thinking the whole shebang - -DVD, CD, T-shirt, bandanna bundle.

Live, Volume 3 DVD is comprised of a selection of songs from our Charlotte performance, shot in HD and mixed by Ryan Hewitt, the engineer/mixer of I and Love and You. Additionally, the DVD will include documentary-style episodes, with interviews from the band and the fans who attended the show."
So it looks like a lot of our board friends WILL be on this dvd after all. The "interviews with band and fans" has got to be the 13-chapter series of videos previously hosted on this site.
You can also pre-order now, with a multitude of options available. I find it puzzling there's no option for JUST the cd/dvd. Or the bundle and a poster. For whatever reason, either the shirt and/or the bandanna are included in all packages that have both the cd AND dvd. Or am I missing something? Either way, not really complaining. Still totally excited.
Pre-ordered the full she-bang.
cant wait to see got interviewed in the dvd! I think I'm going for the $26 bundle. I already have an avett t-shirt... but then again I just may change my mind

I almost bounced out of my chair when I saw that email!! I am so freaking excited!! That show was fantastic and I know that DVD is going to capture it all. I can't wait to get this and throw an Avett Brothers Concert viewing party!!

I think Ballad will make it on there. It seemed important to Seth to restart the whole song during the show. Plus, that was the best version of it that I've heard. Seth really wailed on it during the taxi that the young main drives part.

Been so busy w/ work / wedding this coming weekend, i haven't been able to really send anything in on this but...
This is huge.. Everybody has been asking for a Live Vol. 3 for years now ( me included) and now we get it on CD and DVD... I remember a # of board members throwing out the ideas of having those interviews, etc. on a DVD and I'm pumped they are... I was on a couple of the episodes and have wondered how I could get them on CD/ DVD, etc. in the case that they were ever removed from Youtube... I'm really pumped for this - I really think that the shots captured, professionally, on film will really help people who may have never seen them, get a better idea of what all their performances bring... There are some great videos on youtube, but there are also a lot of videos that are just plain horrible and don't make for an easy viewing experience... Now we'll have that!!!
I agree with the packages though - it would've been nice to have another option or two, but I guess they needed to get rid of some of those bandanas, shirts, posters, etc.... I went with the big package, but raelly just wanted the CD / DVD.... oh well
