Whatever satisfies the soul is truth--Walt Whitman
Bonefish just texted me and said they got an extra after-show treat in the parking lot. Man oh man!
So glad to hear he & Dawn made it.
Dream Appointed and PG Raliegh would be my favoirtes at this show. I love Dream Appointed! Sounds like stacked setlist.

Go Vols!
All I can say is wow! Black and Blue and Hand Me Down Tune! What a treat that must have been! I really hope someone took video of these.
I didn't know about Black, Blue before. I had to look it up and thankfully I found it (streaming) online on someone's blog. I just listend to it probably ten times in a row. My god, that is a beautiful song. It made me weep upon the first listen. Lucky, lucky folks who got to hear it live for the 1st time! Wish I could've been there for that. I also love Dream Appointed. Such a great setlist!!!

I gave to you my ugly brown coat, you made it pretty when you put it on....

what I loved about November Blue is that it came out of nowhere!!!!

I and Love and You was def the highlight, I'm looking forward to the new stuff

What was the extra treat in the parking lot?
What a great setlist! Starting things off with "Please Pardon Yourself" must've been incredible.
"Hand Me Down Tune" has made its way into at least one other show I know of -- they played it as the interlude during "Pretty Girl from Annapolis" at the Birchmere in Alexandria a couple of years ago. That was another great evening of music.
I'm pretty sure I would drop out of college to hear Black, Blue. God, what a setlist.

Nothing's good because nothing lasts. And all that comes, it comes here to pass.
I would voice my pain, but the change wouldn't last.
All that comes, it comes here to pass.
Please Pardon Yourself ~ My very, very favorite tune ever!!
Hand Me Down Tune ~ I have always wanted them to play this one. WOW
Black, Blue
And It Spread
Maybe it's just as well I couldn't go to this show. I might have expired.
You are some very lucky people!!!!!

When at first I learned to speak.
I used all my words to fight.
With him and her and you and me.
Ahh, but it's just a waste of time.
Yeah it’s such a waste of time.
Wow.
I'm curious. Was it just Scott and Seth on Black, Blue, or did Bob and Joe play too?

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
talk about a dream setlist!
you see why i was so manic last night, taryn?
"I'm curious. Was it just Scott and Seth on Black, Blue, or did Bob and Joe play too?"
It was just Seth if I recall correctly.
I'm sure someone can confirm.
what happened in the parking lot?!?! ARGH!! That's what i get for leaving early! It was a GREAT show
Yep, just Seth alone for Black, Blue and just Scott for Hand Me Down Tune.
Scott said it was the first time they'd played either one and they've been practicing them, so hopefully we'll see them more in the rotation. (guess he wasn't counting the interlude from that show?)
I've always like Black, Blue okay, but it was unbelievably beautiful live. As was Hand Me Down Tune.
Yogini--it was a bonus track on Second Gleam along with The Greatest Sum (electric).
ETA: when Seth announced they were doing the last song on Emotionalism, I had to do the math (hehe) b/c I had to subtract the bonus tracks and then as soon as I realized what it was, my jaw dropped and I turned to Brian and Dawn. then called Marysstikal.
Couldn't believe it.

I wanna have friends that I can trust,
That love me for the man I’ve become, not the man that I was.
sooooo awesome to hear it. funny how hearing a totally unexpected song can make you so, so happy.
Wow! I sure hope they give us some good ones like that in Roanoke!!
--
Changing the plans that I’ve been setting on
I’m scared by the way that my life is getting gone
Oh, also, I didn't know this, but some others might--Seth (I think) said that they'd recorded a song for 4 Thieves and Emotionalism and it didn't end up on either record--Can you Not See?

So jealous of the Norfolk people right now! Amazing setlist!
And that is some good speculation chilixx, maybe they will release it if it's recorded...cross some fingers!

Chilixx: I did figure that out and came home from work this morning and immediately bought Black, Blue on i-tunes!
I have the vinyl Gleam, but it remains unopened....so I never heard that song! Serendipity at its best

man, that is an amazing list!
Man Id love to hear Can You Not See? ..... I hope it makes it as a bonus track on this Deluxe Package!
I love that there are still songs that they haven't played live; more so, that they break them out for us and spread them around like seeds - little musical seeds of joy
I wasn't even there but I feel so grateful!

And in my dreams I saw the future
What was the special parking lot treat?!? the set list was amazing and for my first show i couldnt have been more pleased, the pre-show Avett Brothers cookout was a cool surprise i think
