I was feeling pretty low the past couple of weeks, and these are the songs that made it onto my playlist. There's not really any rhyme or reason. They were just the ones I felt like listening to: Walking for You, My Losing Bet, Smoke In Our Lights (Live, vol. 2), The Ballad of Love and Hate, The New Love Song, November Blue, Sanguine, Tear Down the House, If it's the Beaches, My Last Song to Jenny (Live, vol. 2), Gift for Melody Anne, Souls Like Wheels, Backwards with Time, Find My Love, The Lowering, Feb. 20 2000, The Greatest Sum, Ill With Want, Living of Love, When I Drink, Offering (Live, vol. 2), Black, Blue, The Weight of Lies.

decide what to be and go be it.
Crunk: The Fall, PPY, Talk On, Matrimony, LOL, the whole DD album...
Blue: The Morning/Silver/Bell..., Weight of Lies
Sentimental: Smoke In Our Lights, Offering, All My Mistakes, My Last Song To Jenny, Laundry Room...
Just a few that come to mind.

I've found myself not listening to the Avetts when I'm in a not so good mood.... If I'm feeling a bit down I usually either listen to The Mourning, The Silver, and The Bell, OR Townes Van Zandt.
If I'm in a better mood I'll listen to boys... I think Townes and the Darling stuff helps me think...
maybe it's just me.

second gleam when i feel stressed and need to chill
well Sanguine actually means cheerfully optimistic (not to sound like know-it-all) but its never really struck me as a happy song
Sad/thinking mood- any Mourning and the silver and the bell
mad-talk on indolence,
happy- The D Bag Rag is the best happy song EVER!
Melancholy: The Mourning, The Silver, The Bell or the Gleam--Sanguine (despite the word's meaning) and If It's the Beaches, especially.

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.
For all the hardest roads we have to walk alone.
I always interpreted Sanguine as a prayer or a plea for help in becoming less melancholy, so it's a perfect song for helping oneself out of misery. But I listen to Sanguine after work when I need to unwind. The quiet tone helps with that.
Saturday morning headed to the beach song: Talk on Indolence.
Playing cards: Pretty Girl From Cedar Lane and others on Mignonette
Matrimony makes me drive faster, but it's a good road song. So is Beside the Yellow Line.
