But their good times come with prices
And I can't believe it when I hear the jokes they make
At anyone's expese except their own
Would they laugh if they knew who paid?

We will keep them in our prayers. You have our sympathies Dane and family.

Just wanted to put this out there in case any of you guys are interested. The folowing was published in Mrs. Honeycutt's obituary: "In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions in memory of Vickie be made to Mt. Pleasant High School, 700 Walker Road, Mt. Pleasant, N.C. 28124. A scholarship fund will be established for beginning teachers and Cadet teaching students in Cabarrus County Schools."

"If I were walking through the rain, and I hear you call my name, I would break into a run without a pause."

You just never know how you might affect those around you. We had the privilege of meeting Vickie through a mutual friend, Phyllis, and it was always a delight to meet up with the two of them at Avett concerts. She was such a sweet person and we could tell right away Dane had some good upbringing. She was very proud of her son and the man he has become. Though only briefly, we are very glad we got to know her. Through her love and support of Dane and The Avett Brothers, Vickie ended up touching more lives than just those of her community. We are so sad for everyone around her. We told her she was responsible for teaching some good English, which led to an awful lot of great lyric-writing down the road. Hats off to the teachers out there making a difference in this world.

Always horrible news to hear about the loss of someones loved one. A tough time, but be strong!!

If anyone is interested in contributing to the Avett Nation/Team Avett group donation to the scholarship fund, please contact me on Facebook, through email, or via PM. I'll be checking my PMs regularly for the next few days, so there's no need to post that you PM'ed me. Thanks, y'all.
