The inaugural Avett Brothers appreciation evening in Portland, Maine is happening Friday, October 14 from 5-8 PM at Flask Lounge on Spring Street downtown. If it proves to be something that people want, this will become a monthly gathering.

This first evening is, due to falling in October, themed as a costumed celebration. Yup, you should find your most Avett-ish garb; whether that means dressing up like one of the boys, their stage hands, their many collaborators, or just someone who loves their music; dress to impress.

There will be North Carolina drink specials, live acoustic music (unfortunately not by the Avetts....but by great musicians), giveaways, and the Avett's (and other like minded bands) on the stereo. Oh yeah, and it's free of course.
