Anybody heard how they are going to pass out the posters and laminates for the Pit Pass tickets in Raleigh 10.08.10....really hoping they mail them...but I bet thats wishful thinking!

haven't heard... but wondering the same thing. i haven't gotten our tics (via snail mail) yet... but got other tics to the same venue within a couple of weeks of purchasing them. has anyone received their tics?

I read in another post that in the past promotional items were distributed as you enter, or exit the pit. I haven't heard anything official. If you purchased tickets during the fan pre sale they usually hit the mail 1-3 weeks prior to the show.

Nope, they should be coming from live nation (right??)...the same folks that sent my House Of Blues tix...I got those about 3 weeks before the show. Just hoping they send the poster and such then too...

I'd be happy to take it on the way out like at the 08.08.09 Bojangles Col. show....

Honestly, I will be happy either way...it would just be easier to take care of the poster without hoping it survives the show!

thanks for putting my mind to rest about the tix. i thought in the past they were sent out just a few weeks prior, but when i got another show's tix to that venue, right after purchasing them... it made me wonder.

lets hope promotional items are passed out as we exit the pit! i don't see any chance of mine surviving the show otherwise. ;0)

Yeah...I think the email says that we'll get more info (and tickets) within a week or so of the event. So I'm not worried YET, but given AA's history, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about it. As for the posters, I'm just going to bring a poster thingy (the technical term for that escapes me right now) from the post office to protect mine and Annie's. Even if that's not terribly convenient, at least they'll be safe. For cryin' out loud, we paid $70; my poster is getting home in mint condition.

Tickets, poster, and laminate: seventy dollars. Parking: ten dollars. Big bottle of Corrona: twenty dollars. Pit at the Avett's homecoming show: Priceless

I don't have any special insight on how TAB plan to do it, but I saw a show at Walnut Creek last wknd (Jack Johnson & friends), and they were checking ppl's tix right at the pit entrance & then distributing wristbands to those folks. Seemed simple enough, and I imagine the same will take place on 10/8, plus the laminates.

Captchas are stoopid.

i gots no idea what is going on. i got tickets somewhere, but i dont even know where

Can someone tell me if the sound in the grass is worse than it was a few years ago? Should be concerned about that? I read somewhere on here that they had to remove some speakers aimed at the lawn due to local complaints about noise.

I just did a little check, and there are approximately 2,500 reserved seats still available for the show.
Walnut Creek capacity is 20,000. (6,847 seats, ~13,000 lawn)

Do you think we can sell it out? I want the boys to be happy with the big show, so I hope we get close to capacity.

Koka Booth's capacity is 7,000 and that sold out 2 years ago. so I'm thinking it's going to be pretty full come Oct. 8th.

I think the appropriate response to those numbers is "WOW. Holy sh*t!"

Did Koka Booth sell out, really? I think I would have remembered that. I gathered that it did not.
How many tix sold for the Bojangles show in Charlotte last year?
NYE in Asheville last year was a big show, but that place definitely didn't sell out....I think it was something like 6300 tix sold.
The Atlanta show on Friday at Chastain was reportedly their largest gig to date with 6900 in attendance (or tix sold)... Can anyone back those claims up (lookin at you, Sunday)?

Koka Booth sold out at 7,000. While I know it was not just an Avett Brothers show, I believe this years Sunday Merlfest set was the largest crowd they had ever played for. I think it was estimated at well over 8000. That's what I was told at the time. They may have surpassed that since then.

Well...if we're gonna count "largest crowd ever played for"...wouldn't those shows have to be Glastonbury or Bonnaroo?

Getting awfully hard to count so high these days...definitely not doing that math.

No, Joe told me Merlefest was a larger crowd than Bonnaroo where they were not on the main stage. I don't know for sure about Glastonbury. That's why I said they could have played to larger crowds after Merlefest. But I doubt it.
Were they on the main stage there?

Bottom line is the sh!t's done blown up like a Taliban...

Just got an email that tickets have shipped!

Dear The Avett Brothers Fan,

You’re The Avett Brothers tickets for the October 8th 2010 show at Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion were shipped out earlier today and will be arriving very soon. All tickets are sent through First Class mail through the United States Postal Service and will arrive in a white envelope stating, “Dated Material Enclosed”. If you do not have them three (3) business days before the event date, please contact our office at info@artistarena.com.

I got 3 emails from AA about my tickets. Maybe I'm getting 3 tickets, that'd rawk.

I too, got three emails. Just shows you Artist Arena isnt all with it.

I still wonder about the poster. Im sure it wont be mailed to us....just hope we dont have to keep up with it during the show. Probably will be like Charlotte, passed out as we left the show.

Yeah but everyone at Charlotte got a poster, it seems like it would be a little chaotic to try to pass them out afterwards.

Maybe we can pick them up backstage. Smiling

Artist Arena will send out an email about a week before the show explaining how it will be handled. As of right now they don't know what they are going to do. By the way my tickets arrived today.

Received my tickets today as well. I sure hope the poster is passed out after the show, not before!
