Self-Titled...out of print???

Does anyone know anything about TAB's self-titled 2000 album? I have been trying to find somewhere to buy or at least sample it, but no luck. Here's the track list:
"Kind of in Love"
"My Lady and the Mountain"
"Those Green Eyes"
"Feb. 20, 2000"
"Let Myself Live"
"I Love You Still"
Any ideas??? Thanks...

There's a very good chance it will be remastered and re-released soon according to Dolph. Patience is key.

I can say it’s worth the effort. "Those Green Eyes" is one of my favorite Avert songs. The guitar work is unreal. I once saw them do "Feb. 20, 2000" just after midnight on Feb 20 at the Soap Box in Willmington. That was cool.
In a recent article in The Charlotte Observer Dolph discussed the resurgence of vinyl and again mentioned his desire to re-release the older CDs.

“It seems that a whole generation never had the pleasure to know what it was like to hold an LP (by) your favorite band and go over the artwork and liner notes with a fine-tooth comb. The compact disc never had the same impact,” says Dolph Ramseur, whose Concord-based Ramseur Records released the Avett Brothers' second “Gleam” on vinyl in July.
He plans to release most of the trio's back catalog on vinyl as well. “Holding a copy of ‘The Second Gleam' in my hand and seeing the Ramseur Records logo in the middle of the vinyl was a big highlight for me,” he says.
Here is another nice little write up.

There's a ton of their out of print stuff that I'm dying to get my hands on. I hope all the rerelease talk isn't just smoke!
Oops, still getting the hang of this board
Bring on the rereleases! I'd like to get my hands on Live at the Double Door as well.
Thanks for sending the links with Dolph's comments on the subject. I would love to see the TAB albums released on vinyl... Emotionalism would be amazing on vinyl (actually all the albums would be amazing). I've also heard TAB talk about rereleasing the old albums (on their KEXP studio session from 2008).
If they rerelease all the old albums, especially on vinyl, I will become one poor Avetts fan.
I love those old albums, and I would love to have vinyl editions.
Interesting.... i have always wondered if those first releases are worth the while. There's a bigger and bigger interest in them these days. Its only a matter of time i'd say.
The older albums are DEFINITELY worth it!
My friend actually found Live at the Double Door Inn in a used CD store for $6! When he went to pay for it, the guy working was wearing a TAB shirt. Boy was he upset he didnt find that first! That was a chance that sure doesnt come around. I wonder who in the world let that CD go...
Some months ago, (I think it was) Country Was and LATDDI was on Ebay and they were going for a hundred +.

I check the used CD section at my local record store on a weekly basis. I had a dream the other night that I found a Nemo album. No such luck yet though, unfortunately.

Last night, I dreamt the whole night long
I woke with a head full of songs
I spent the whole day, I wrote em down
but it's a shame
Tonight, I'll burn the lyrics
'cause every chorus was your name.

ha ha! Good to know though. I guess I've just thought that they were interesting listens, to see their songwriting and workmanship progress, but apparently they are diamonds in the rough.
I got the first Nemo album at a used record store here in Asheville for 6 or 7 bucks a couple years ago, so it's definitely worth looking! It couldn't believe it. The album was released before Seth had even joined the band, he was just listed for backing vocals on a few tracks as I recall. I have managed to get my hands on all the out of print stuff, including the Darling albums. It took me about a year and some good luck along the way, but trust me, it's all well worth hunting down. And I'd buy all of it in a heartbeat on cd AND vinyl if it was re-released.
you have originals?

No, Jerry, not of anything out of print, sadly, with the exception of The Morning, The Silver, The Bell, which I suspect many here have as well. I even traded my Nemo disc to David to complete his collection, knowing I could never even scratch the surface of all the stuff he had, and that disc needed to find it's proper home. That's why I'd still gladly welcome a re-release. Maybe a 3-disc Darling set, a 3-disc including s/t, Double Door, and Country Was, and a 3-disc including all Nemo and Margo recordings. A guy can dream, can't he? I'd also welcome vinyl of all of this, and digital if I have to settle. The remastered version of Country Was on iTunes was like really listening to it the first time. It definitely made me pay more attention than I ever did to the pirated copy, and that was in 320 kbps mp3 ripped from the original disc.
I am with ya there Blasto! I want all the old syuff on vinyl....like yesterday

so any chance the darling albums will reappear along with the first releases?
one can hope

Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!
I like to use my itunes to organize the albums by date and listen to their progression through the years. Sadly, the self-titled isn't included.
Does anyone have any more info on Margo?
All I can find is Scott describing it as 'Seth's band around Charlotte" and saying that it was 'melodic rock'

I've been drinkin' seven hours now
sympathy is a waste of my high
I have ten MARGO recordings. The info I have may be incorrect and I would LOVE it if someone could correct me. I just cant get much info on their output.

I believe they had one track appear on a compilation CD with some other bands. I had the CD in my hands at one time and there was a track by a band called MARGO but I did not believe it was Seth’s band. Looking back now after talking to people I believe it was.
I am not that well versed on this style of music but I find MARGO to be quite similar to NEMO.

"To some extent I happily don't know what I'm doing. I feel that it's an artist's responsibility to trust that. ." - David Byrne
I find Margo to be similar, but much more melodic. I quite prefer what I've heard to Nemo, actually. Also, it should be noted that a few of those untitled songs are actually early versions of songs that showed up on later Nemo releases. Brother Wayne's in there and maybe 1 or 2 others I'm missing.
A new release would make me all kinds of happy. I'm dying to hear Those Green Eyes...

All I can say is that this album, although 6 songs long, is awesome. "Kind of in Love", "Those Green Eyes", and "Let Myself Live" are three of my favorite Avett songs. I saw the self-titled album and "Country Was" go for $150 a couple years ago on Ebay. It's the only time I've ever seen them for sale. I sure wish I had won.

I remember hearing a lot of the A Carolina Jubilee songs on Live 2 and wanting sooo bad for them to re-release ACJ. Since they did, it has become my favorite album. I say bring the back catalog, vinyl, cd or digital, whatever. I'd love to hear Nemo and Margo too.

I'm like my grandma: short, but I stand tall, playing every card that's dealt to me. Some days are aces, and some days are faces, and some days are twos and threes.
i have a copy of Country Was, and I must say, it's incredible. I'm still looking for Double Door, and the only song i have off of the original CD is "Kind of In Love", which is totally one of my favorite Avetts songs of all time.
