Freaking awesome! Thanks for posting! Hysterical with Joe playing the bottle and the guys being completely stiff interspersed with mayhem on the set. Am going back to watch it 25 more times at least.
This is my dream! I love everything about this video--especially Joe playing the bottle and Dane flying through the set. Well done, boys!

lildeadhead: that pen she uses to keep her setlists? it's a human-finger bone. dipped in the blood of the ones who yell out during "murder in the city". poetic, no?
Hate to be a wet blanket here, but I'm removing the link to the SFOS link and it is being taken down from Youtube until Tuesday. This video is supposed to be premiered exclusively early Monday morning, and the Brothers get extra exposure from our video partner in exchange for this exclusivity.
We know everyone wants to see the video ASAP, but for the good of Team Avett, we request that nobody repost the link until the launch.
Every time I think I couldn't possibly love the Avetts more than I already do, they do something like this video!
Favorite parts:
--Joe playing the bottle--I vote that he plays the bottle for a NYE show!
--Someone flying across the set, a la Tarzan.
--anyone notice that the suggested price and actual price add up to $25?
--the quick clip of them with the banjo and acoustic guitar--not sure if it's meant to be a reassurance that they'll keep playing some songs with banjo, or if that's the "color, time, town, and place" that are gone, but either way it's a cool moment.
--the shout-out to Concord and NC at the beginning
ETA: whoops, I guess I'm not supposed to have seen the video yet. Um, what I meant to say was, I can't wait for the SFOS video to premiere!
Just noticed that the embedding was disabled. Came back here and saw the "wet blanket" post. Thank goodness for some little tricks I learned from lockwesmonster.
Alec/hot knives woke me up out of a sound sleep last night to watch the video. Now I'm glad he did! Can't wait until the official premiere to watch it a couple dozen more times. So much to see and I'm sure I missed loads of stuff.
Absolutely and incredibly brilliant and hilarious.
Loved at the very beginning when the are playing so stiffly, but Scott's eyes are darting around and when they sing "they say that this is where the fun begins" and Seth just has this dead stare on his face.
-- The Avetts are a rare talent, timeless yet current, and capable of singing straight to a single soul while broadcasting to the ever-increasing masses.
There is so much hilarious goodness in there I can't wait to watch it over and over. LOVE it. This whole lead-up and video have been so much fun! I'm so curious how they came up with the idea. I also loved hearing my kids giggle uncontrollably when they watched it
Oh, my goooooodness! I slapped my knee so many times I've hurt myself.
These guys are hilarious and amazing. So much joy and laughter. SFoS has been one of my favorites. I am so excited to see a fresh, raw video like this. Scott running up the stairs while playing guitar and Seth with no emotion. Then the chaos! This is my new favorite video. What a great way to boost my mood. Needs more cowbell though:) haha
4:24....Joe at the grill in the back, appears to be eating w/the spatula!!
So much to take in, I will have to watch this a hundred times over to catch everything.

stirred, that was one of my favorite parts! At first glance I thought it was Seth, but I went back a couple times and realized it was Joe. The whole video is just perfect and so funny, but I really think Joe is the most hilarious one throughout. The grill, fighting with Scott over the equipment, and the superb bottle playing. It's all just priceless. Plus, I love Seth's deadpan on the drums. Okay, really I just love the whole thing.

Awesome!
Amazing! I love when Scott and Joe are fighting over equipment, and Seth flings stuff off the podium, then plays the drums in the air.
These guys are brilliant. I'll be watching this on repeat when it officially launches.
