Didnt see a posting for this....how cool??
Finally, to the early bird August 8th ticket buyers...
Some good news for folks who bought (or who will buy tomorrow) their tickets during the presale for August 8th in Charlotte — if you get (or got) GA floor tickets during the presale, you will be given special entry 15 minutes before the doors open to the general public, so you’ll have the first chance to scope out the best spots. An email with instructions and more details on this will be sent closer to the date!

lucky lucky people.
Great news, got to love a band that appreciates its fans.
Cool. Thanks, guys.
Thank you, Avetts! (and the others on their team who organized this)... Will be a great treat.
Anyone know how many GA pre-sale tics there were? (Or the percentage or the total GA tics that were avail in presale?) And does the floor have chairs... or will it just be a constantly moving sea of people?
Our friends that we bought tics with bought us GA & I bought seats. (Obviously there was some major mis-communication.)
We were planning on passing the GA tics along, as my goal is to see the Avetts, not just heads in the crowd. (I am only 5'1.)
But I am curious now with this 15 min early entry...
YES! That is awesome!
hey kayasmama - the 15 min. wouldnt really matter if you had seats. I'd say it's just to give the GA presalers a chance at getting up front. Or are you trying to judge how many presalers will be rushing in like crazed shoppers on Black Friday?
I missed out on the 10am and had to buy when i got home - ended up with seats on the side. I am tempted to try for some GA tomorrow though - depends on if the wife wants to stand or sit (she's about 5'3")
despite the fact that we're allowed in early, I'm pretty sure we will all get in line 6 hours early anyway.
There are no seats in GA.
All I hope is that the non-early birds who don't get in 15 minutes early don't try to bulldoze their way up to the front : (

elbows.
it will be funny watching us all scramble around for spots and/or merch./drinks/bathroom breaks in 15 minutes.
hahaha most epic 15 minutes ever. we're gonna need to set up a routine, and quickly!
it's all about cooperation.
hey dudes-
for those who got the general admission tickets for charlotte during the presale- how much were they? I'm trying to figure out if this is going to be manageable
thanks
"how much were they?"
$36.70 with tax, fees and everything.
Very nice touch!
So the wife & I don't have to get there crazy early......Just 15m early and we will be just be let in?
I assume there will be two lines and the pre sale line will get in first.
I was asking about the pre-sale b/c our friends (who we are going to the show with) bought tics as well as I... so we have (unintentional) extras... just not sure which tics are the extras yet. They bought GA & I bought seats. I was trying to see if GA would be worth it; hence I was trying to scope out the pre-sale benefits.
My #1 priority at a show is to see / hear the band as closely but unobstructed as possible. So I am thinking that even with the 15 mins pre-sale rushing of the stage, seats still may be a better option. In my opinion, the floor is only a good spot if you are in rows 1 - 5. Now, I maybe would have a different opinion if I were 6 ft tall. I know a lot of people prefer GA so that they can hang with their pals. I figure I can hang out any time. When I am at a show, I don't take my eyes off the stage; I rather be lost in the music - so I really don't care who I am with.
But jrlooney - though I wasn't asking for that specific reason, I do get a kick out of the mad stage rush. hee hee. If your wife is 5'3... I imagine you would have to line up pretty darn early before the show to be able to get to a spot where she can see... and you may want to wear some running shoes!!!
well the bojangles collisem is a pretty good place to see music... luckily everybody on here will have good seats, however, some of the seating up top doesn't have the best sound ( especially in the corners).....
the floor is a decent sized floor but it won't be packed from front to back... but i'm sure, as always, it'll be a little crunched up front....
but also wanted to add, as to what was said above about The Avett Brothers and Ramseur - having this ticketing system for the fans is awesome and now allowing the GA ticket holders to go in early - is twice as nice.... really just shows that they do care for the fans and just don't say it....
Yes Drew52Deal - I couldn't agree more. The pre-sale perks & the discount (of already cheap tics, in my opinion) are awesome. I think I can speak for all the fans when I say we are very grateful & appreciative.
While I generally prefer outdoors shows for the fresh air & clouds above... coliseums, with their inclined seating, do guarantee that all the seats will have a good view of the stage. I just feel for whoever is behind me... hope they don't want to sit the whole show. hee hee
is there a point to letting us in 15 minutes early? We are going to line up early and the people with reserved seats can't come down to the GA area anyway.
hehee i agree with ya kayasmama - i've also reached that age where having somewhere to sit for a few minutes to take a load off is a good thing.
I just checked and GA tickets were available, but I'm sticking with my seats and hoping its a decent view. *crosses fingers*
Hey Zach, the big draw really might be to get to the merch table first. It was said we'll have a chance to get the new album - I just hope they have enough for everyone.
everyone should come in and sit down to reserve your little slice of GA space.
So i've been reading everyon'e advice and still am not sure which tickets to get- i nkow it's basically based on personal preference. Does anyone know if section 111 is a good one to still be able to see the stage. The pre-sale tickets for GA are gone it appears.
I tired to get tickets this weekend and again this morning with the pre-sale promo. Stupid work always getting in the way of me being able to get online and stay ahead of the game.
"everyone should come in and sit down to reserve your little slice of GA space."
I'm definitely on board with this.
good call on the merchandise. I am going to buy a copy of I&L&Y in as many forms as i can (vinyl, digital, cd)
