Ticketmaster = Flaking Out

Ticketmaster = Flaking Out

Ticketmaster is making me want to hurl things.

Earlier in the week, TM was showing the Chicago date as "Unavailable." Boo, right?

Then, I was told that they were available again yesterday. Sho' nuff, they were! Yay, right?

I secured a babysitter for The Littles this afternoon, and now that I'm ready to purchase, they are unavailable again. Aaargh!

What's the scoop? Here's the message I was getting/I am getting again:

(I'm wondering if I should obsess, and keep checking back? Or, am I officially out of luck to purchase through TM?)

Tickets are currently not available online for one of the following reasons. Please check back for availability.

* Tickets may not be on sale yet
* Tickets may not be available at this time. More tickets may become available later
* Tickets may not be available online just hours before an event occurs
* On rare occasions, tickets may only be available at ticket outlets or the box office

They represent everything that's wrong in the world and deserve a stern talking to.

I, too, encountered this issue several times over the past few days when attempting to buy tickets to this show. Wasn't sure if it meant the concert was sold out or what....but finally last night some tickets showed up on there and I was able to buy them. Hope someone knows what's going on so that anjanette (& other fans) can get tickets!

Just when you thought you couldn't like Ticket Monster less... there's news they're attempting to merge with Live Nation. (Noooo!!!!!!)

Care to help try to fight it?

However, this anti-Ticketbastard group seems to be run by...guess who? Ticket brokers! (If ya can't beat em, join em?)

"One can question ticketdisaster.org's motives -- one of its spokespeople is a representative of the National Association of Ticket Brokers, a lobbying group for all the businesses in competition with Ticketmaster (including scalpers) -- but as a veteran reporter who's covered both of these companies since their origins, I find it hard to disagree with many of the criticisms ticketdisaster.org makes of Live Nation and Ticketmaster on its Web site, which is well worth a visit."

RE: merger w/ Live Nation -- The U.S. Justice Department has prepared a team of litigators to oppose the merger if it should go through. They will likely take the deal to court and attack it under antitrust law.

So a little good news at least.

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different, we love to talk on things we don't know about.

@heids

That is good news, I read about the merger and was praying that the antitrust legislation would step up and it's looking like it should. We're screwed if it doesn't. I'm more worried since it already made it through Britain's courts, and they're (typically) more liberal than this country particularly dealing with corporate governance.

Okay...Chicago HOB and Cleveland HOB tix are on LIVE NATION for sale! Freakin' fee is $12 per ticket, though! Why I oughtta...
Chicago: http://www.livenation.com/edp/eventId/414038
Cleveland: http://www.livenation.com/edp/eventId/41405

Anjie...you know the "little boy" who prints that ticket has to eat .....but seriously..wowzers!! $12 buck a ticket!

Now the $9 per ticket fee for Indy seems like a bargain ... but I did have to print my own tickets.
