"Oh Happy Day" indeed. I am overjoyed!

This is a great early start to the new year. Can we be so bold as to expect some solo shows in 2010?

this is great news... really pumped for these...

Well Locust, Mount Pleasant, Concord.... LETS GOOO!

lovin' this...

The videos and the entire website is gorgeous. 30th in Knoxville is my bday. I think I am gonna have to treat myself to three CDs. Forget eating.....it's over-rated!! Laughing out loud

The Avetts are a rare talent, timeless yet current, and capable of singing straight to a single soul while broadcasting to the ever-increasing masses.

I betcha the merch lines are going to be deadly...You can order off of the site, too.

Yay! Maybe I'll buy these before the Atlanta show, so I don't have to worry about losing my spot. I just don't think I can handle waiting for the CDs to arrive in the mail!

...and was I the only one found shouting, "Seth! Watch out...Stairs coming up!"

--
"one with Earth and one with God"

should i order before the show or wait and get them there?

anjanette: i was thinking the same thing. i wonder how he saw them without looking haha.

HAppy early Birthday Stirred!

So excited about the Darling. Great way to start an awesome week.

Avett brothers and sisters please remember not to shove and create a mob mentality at the merch lines please, please, please. We are ALL excited for these concert goodies.

thank you, wifeoftinman!

I am assuming that is little Seth in the lawn chair with the kitten. If I were a kitten.......

So excited about this! I love the new video, and am also impressed with the steady camera-work.

Best news I've received in a long time!

That is great news! I will definitely be bringing a few extra dollars to Atlanta to get those first two Darling albums.

Love the new video also for About Love. That was some seriously impressive playing while walking backwards, up and down stairs. And not once did he bump into the walls w/ the guitar. Mine would have been all scratched up after trying that! Love it though.

I wanna live, and I want you to live happy and free

so excited to be able to obtain copies of these! finally!

awesome!

GREAT NEWS.
Thanks for making them available on a hard copy and not just a download.
A lot of people have been waiting a long time for these.

What do y'all think...Seth playing a darling song at any of the new years shows: even a remote possibility?

--
There's only one thing here worth hoping for.

we can probably expect a lot of seth's stuff to make it into the shows since it's pretty much the same stuff the band plays. I doubt we'll see any solo shows, nor would I want any if it cuts into the band's tour.

The Darling songs aren't what the band plays at all. Except "Bella Donna".
I'd be shocked if he busted one out. "Ballad In Open D"? I'd sh*t.
And I'd pay mucho denero for another Darling show at Old Courthouse Theatre.
I love that ol' place. Just down the road from me.

My New Year will be starting off fine!

She'll be drinking someone elses rye, when I'm six feet below.

so excited to be able to get hardcopies of these--in fact, I already ordered them. and yes, I'd fall over if they played any Darling songs, but I don't think it's gonna happen. can you imagine the pandemonium if Seth did a Darling tour--oh my!

--
Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.
For all the hardest roads we have to walk alone.

I do believe I'd bawl like a baby if he played "About Love".

"If I were walking through the rain, and I hear you call my name, I would break into a run without a pause."

Last year when The Avett Family album was released, they played a few of the songs..........just saying.

Great news about the albums. The only thing that kills me is I have that poster they are selling on the new site
so I guess mine isn't quite as rare now. Oh well, I might just buy another print. These Avett Brothers really know how to take our money..Evil

I believe your poster is just as rare as it ever was. I don't think they printed any more. I think the ones they have are from the original batch. They are still a very limited item.

Are the Darling prints about the same size as the other prints?

No, it is approximately. 15"x 24.5" I could easily be wrong but I do not think it is made by the same process. It seems more like a 2 color silk screen. They were not signed and numbered.

Thanks for the info

This is wonderful news.

For those settling for the digital downloads, Amazon has each album up already for $7.99. I've got 'em downloading now. Know what I'll be listening to while I'm packing up the Christmas tree tonight.

and monumental debt.
It’s all the times I’ve ruined my life.

and I hope I'm not gonna be known as 'the guy who stalks sundayrehab'

but even if I was I wouldn't stop now, I've already had the joy of hearing these, though the remasters are going to sound much better I'm sure.

I'll stop when they have full releases of nemo and margo material as well as the professionally shot live shows. these are the things of dreams, I fear.

I believe there are plans to eventually release some of the Nemo stuff in some format or another. Margo might be a long shot, though.

I'm still hopeful for physical copies of self-titled, Country Was, and Double Door.

These will certainly tide me over for now, though Smiling What a pleasant surprise! I think I may be more excited to pick these up tomorrow than I am to see my first Avett show all year. I'm a sucker for these Darling albums.

I would strongly recommend buying these in hard copies. I am lucky enough to have Seth's Killing the Headlamps in the original form. It s awesome how it is put together. It was definatley homemade, you can tell that the cd is a blank w/ a sticker over it. He put a lot of time into it. But the album art and lyrics are great. I hope they keep it as close to the original as possible. With the exception that Seth is probably not doing this at his home with his computer.

I'm new...can someone explain the name "Timothy Seth Avett as Darling"? Why not just "Darling"? Where does the "Darling" come from?

That reminds me...Who updates the Wiki articles around here?

I believe Seth originally wanted to use just DARLING, but at the time there was another (if not 2) bands using the name. Thus the extended name.

Just got em both of itunes............its so good to have these finally

Anjie...I think you just volunteered yourself for the Wiki job!!

Me no type English.

I have had The Mourning, The Silver, The Bell for a good while now, so I'm pretty excited about potentially obtaining the others.

I picked up To Make the World Quiet and Killing the Headlamps at the Atlanta show, and oh my....

Listened to them both a couple times, and one thing, among many, that I love is how everything relates--Seth references November Blue, and he uses the phrase "rapture and smoke," which shows up on A Carolina Jubilee. These both feel a little like concept albums to me--they tell a story, and the liner notes and pictures are a part of that.

I firmly believe that Seth will play songs from the albums, at the very least during an Avett Bros show. He is just that great of a guy.
