I really know how to sell a thread, yes?
"Vocalist-banjo player Scott Avett, whose last name rhymes with “gray jet..."
I mean, that's some hard-hitting journalistic awesomeness, right there. Information overload!

Nice article. Thanks

So if ever someone one says to you,
Life isn't fair, get used to it
Then you should say 'Well it might be
If folks like you would let it be"
I get a weird and out of character vibe from Scott in this interview!

Nice Anj - thanks.
And don't miss this fashion tip filled interview with Scott: http://indianapolis.metromix.com/music/article/scott-avett-stylemaker/17....
Um, thinking of Scott chasing around his kid to put socks on her and also thinking of him sewing the sleeves on his tuxedo jacket? God, I love this band.
I'm trying so hard not to be creepy! I just think they're great!

Ain't it like most people, I'm no different, we love to talk on things we don't know about.
bah haha. how did i miss that one?
best article i've read in awhile...okay. metromix gets its newsboys cap back after that one!
"are you there? are you mad at me?"
Crap. Now my hubby is going to use "Scott Avett wears a jean jacket" as an excuse to pull out that damn stonewashed tragedy from '91 that he's been itching to reconnect with.
Just tossing it out there but, The Avett Brothers have been in Indy a good couple times and I listen to the Bob and Tom Show in the morning (they are in Indy). They have had some really good "up and coming indy artists" through the years so I am suprised the boys haven't shown up there by now. I guess my question is how does that usually work, would columbia have to contact them and request the visit or is it actually backwards from that. Just mentioning because the Bob and Tom Show has a huge audience!
Since the show is on Sunday this time around...It just wouldn't work out, logistically. B&T are only M-F, right?
yeah, but they could hit them in the morning Monday if they were to stick around... just a wish...
Alot of different people listen to the bob and tom show and they're music genre is completely open, which fits the the avett brothers.
Great articles! It makes me smile that he still has his "ugly brown coat."

I agree, Heidi. I mean, how great is that?

I hope Scott continues to do that. With fame and fortune comes distance and tension. I've seen it first hand many times. FAMILY FIRST. The good music will always be played in the avett houses. Stay close to home!

I really don't know how he does it (being away that is)... I put in about 60 hours a week working (nothing compared to touring) and I drive as fast as possible on my way home to be with my beautiful wife and 22 month old daughter!
Also...there's alot of funny comments in that style article. I especially like what he says about Seth..."We make fun of each other silently."

I think I need this advice.
I'm the same way Dfrench81. I've got two little ones and i travel some with my job and I hate it.

The style article was one of the most fun I have read in a while. heids, I completely agree with your entire post.
The Avett Brothers are like onions....layers.
Ugly Brown Coat
Aviators from Feltre, Italy
Tuxedo Jacket sleeves sown in red thread.
All things that I enjoy knowing.

there's only one thing here worth hoping for
Luvmuffin.... it's a good creepy though. I find that there isn' another band that has ever made me feel the way the Avetts can
Anj. .... My husband got his acid wash jacket out for a guys camping weekend and was so proud that it still fit after ALL this time
Thanks for the article
That was absolutely great and exhibits a side I've never observed in Scott. Love imagining I'm shopping at the Goodwill and pick up an ugly brown coat, which turns out to be THE ugly brown coat. Hey! It could happen. I met Seth this week at the mall. I've learned anything is possible with the Avetts.

Yeah, Scott...if you are ever prone to lurk here...don't give anything away!!!! Have an auction and donate the proceeds to charity! I for one would pay good money for your old T-shirts!!!!
lovewritesaletter, I was just thinking the same thing and came here to post it and you beat me to it. Put that Ugly Brown Pea Coat on ebay charity auction!! I'll bet it would bring some serious change.
