Although that is in reference to one of the best things Rubin has done by having Johnny Cash sing NIN's "Hurt."

Yeah. That sounded like praise and a little joke.

And NIN doesn't own "Hurt" any more. Johnny Cash STOLE that song. Not only was it masterfully covered, and you rarely hear me praise a music video (although their are some directors whom I LOVE in videos), but that is also one of the most moving films for a song I've ever seen.
