For the postponed show in Sept....what do you think will be the reasoning behind it. Anyone have any insight?

TV appearance.
i agree with lucas28. they now have no shows between the 27th and the 30th. looks like they might be making stops by a couple of late night programs.

lucas28.....That was my thought exactly. Now who do you think it will be with. I'm gonna say Connan again.

Letterman is my guess, then it is an easy trip to Toronto form NYC.
There were rumors of Letterman, but that was on the 29th, but who knows.
The 27th is a Sunday, so they won't be on a late night show or anything that night. Maybe SNL the night before???? Holy Jesus, I hope so.
ETA: 9/26 is the season premier for SNL. That would be so boss.

The 27th is on a Sunday night. Can't think of any program they'd be on that night. Maybe an appearance on a Monday morning talk show or a Monday night show that tapes during the day.
They have a show on the 26th so it can't be SNL.
whoops, once again Masuther, you keep me on my toes. I totally misread that in my excitement and my attempts to will them to come to my city.

I'd think it would be Letterman on the 29th like everyone said before.
Right, but why would they cancel a show on the 27th for an appearance that wouldn't occur for 2 days?

Hmm, I'm hoping it's a show somewhere close to home. Which would make sense if they're going to do Letterman on the 29th. But that might be impossible since it would take so long to travel to NC.
Imogen Heap will be on Letterman tonight. She tweeted like crazy the day she recorded it, which was like Tuesday. So I'm pretty sure they don't film on the day of the show for Letterman. I believe she said they film a few episodes a day, not positive though.

Winter didn't die,
She was murdered.
Letterman shoots Friday's show on either Tuesday or Thursday, because they don't shoot on Fridays. I think that's the only time they do more than one show in a day - the rest of the time, the show they shoot is shown that night.
Either way, they wouldn't be filming Letterman on Sunday.
My mind is whirling...I'm dying to know the plans!!

Do you think it could be something to do with the video?
Reblecka..anything is possible with the Brothers. I just assumed it had to do with TV or another benifit or something because they are postponing a show. Good thinking though

Interesting. Thanks for the info heids.

I'm not sure if they have tv channels that show videos all the time anymore (yep, I'm out of it), but I just remember (waaay back) when Mtv would have the artists there sometimes? Just imagining.....
Surely its something to promote the album right? Can't think of what it could be but I agree that the tv idea sounds quite likely.....I'm very curious!
Reblecka, when you said something about the video earlier, I was thinking "If they show up at MTV studios, I am pretty sure I'll die." But maybe...
It's the Sunday night thing that's throwing me off and making me think maybe it doesn't have something to do w/ TV - unless, as someone suggested earlier, it's an early morning appearance on Monday, like Today Show or Good Morning America. Ooooh. Matt Lauer and Scott Avett on the same stage? Or David Gregory, if he's guest-hosting? Holy crap....stop the presses, too much hottness.

So Mtv still exists?
Ah yes, it could be happening monday too and the Sunday show just didn't give them enough time to travel or something like that. We shall see.....
I will rein in my imagination now
No thought on if it could be Jimmy Fallon's show? A while back he was asking for tweets of bands you'd like to see on the show. Of course I sent my share for TAB. He has said that they like to introduce new music of ALL styles. Plus, he's got a young crowd. I read an article the other day how there are all sorts of behind-the-scenes rules for guests on the day and night talk shows. Things like Letterman won't take guests that recently appeared on Leno. Regis won't take guests that were recently on The View. At the end of the article they said that Fallon takes just about anyone that wants to come on the show.
I threw out Jimmy Fallon's name a while back as a show I'd love to see them on. I think folks are talking about Letterman b/c a few weeks ago someone w/ inside information said they heard they were going to be on on the 29th.

ok... I'm happy for the guys. I'm sure it's gotta be something important... probably national TV, but since I saw the news, and can't post from work, I have been waiting to say:
nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... not the Dallas show!!! Now, I have to get used to the idea of a short, festival-type set-list in Austin!!!?? noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......
I hear ya Txfan... hopefully an ACL aftershow will be announced!?!
TXFan and LittleMan--I know, I'm bummed for you! I was even half-thinking about trying to make the Dallas show myself, b/c my fam lives down there.
on the other hand, they are now playing Jan 3, and my bday is the 4th...hmmm.

I wanna have friends that I can trust,
That love me for the man I’ve become, not the man that I was.
Maybe something like two free shows close to home that would be webcast?
Some kind of TV appearance would also make sense because of their forthcoming album--it'd make sense to get the publicity.
I wonder how long they hold onto information about postponements, I'd think they'd publish them ASAP so as to help their fans change plans, etc., but what do I know...
Heids - I just looked at the SNL website. The first show is Ben Affleck w. David Cook. LAME. haha
EDIT : Apparently, I'm wrong. But who knows. Ooooops

its for headbangers ball
I hope Adam Curry's not hosting.
what would be nice for all you texas fans, and for us, is if tab gets invited to play on the Austin City Limits program that airs on pbs. i would love to see them on there.

"a woman's heart runs on gasoline"
headbanger's ball Adam Curry
I think it will be Downtown Julie Brown
The SNL on 9/26 is being hosted by Megan Fox, but I couldn't find anything about the musical guest...but as someone pointed out, they have a show that night, so I think that little fantasy can be put to rest. For now.
Wubba Wubba Wubba.

I actually realized that they probably don't film the musical act the day the episode airs, but they still aren't free that week to shoot anything anyway.
I thought it was all live...the music and all. Remember the whole Ashley Simpson thing...

Nevermind. I always assumed everything was filmed live in front of an audience, not actually broadcast live.
Carson Daly's late night show actually features good music and he is a music junkie. I'd be cool with a performance on his show. He always asks his guests what they are listening to at the time and then tries to get those bands in.

I am gonna bet letterman, but either way the guys have some long days on the bus.

I'm hoping getting to Austin a day early for an ACL tapping.

Jimmy Fallon's show would actually be awesome, because it looks like it's a bit easier to get tickets for AND you can apply to get "band bench" tickets, which puts you right by the performers. Gah. I would probably die.
Either way, I wish they would announce it.....I'm so curious!
--
Will you forget when we have paid our debts,
who did we borrow from, who did borrow from?
do we know when the announcement is coming?
Don't think so Mary....all they said was "In place of our Dallas show on September 27th, we have some exciting news coming your way soon. We can't share more than that, so stay tuned for details."

Does the "announcement" of the 7" vinyl count as exciting news? Could this be it?

I would highly doubt it! I think its got to be something a little bit bigger!!

bummed about the dallas show, was looking forward to it as not many good bands come through this city at reasonable priced venues but was excited to see it rescheduled for the new year
