Your Dream Show?

Your Dream Show?

I'm curious to hear you guys' dream shows. I think it would be a good way for some of us to learn about bands we didn't know about. Mine would be The Devil Makes Three, and a Darling set from Seth, opening for TAB...at The Grand Ole Opry.

I actually pondered this the other day, and I decided Trampled by Turtles, Mumford and Sons and TAB, then maybe a set where they all came out together? Of course this would have to be at Red Rocks amphitheater here in Colorado!

If we're dreamin', I'm dreamin' big: Jim, Scott, and Seth on Seth's front porch.

Why Seth's front porch? Why not Jim or Scott's front porch? Just wondering Eye-wink

Raconteurs > O.A.R. > Avett Brothers > Black Keys > ridiculous collaboration between any and all

..but I've been drinking and it's 2 a.m.

I would actually like them out on my friends pier over their pond back in the would with a jar of shine and some close friends to share the experience. Hell, I might even be so lucky as to join in.

If that couldnt happen, then Shawna's experience would be a great substitute.

lotus2thrdeye,
Your post is pretty much an exact explanation of why I love HGTR as much as I do.

eeekkkk Devil Makes Three <3 pretty much TheMourning you hit me spot on. Maybe a little Old Crow and Lucinda Williams for kicks.

Why Seth's front porch? Because I love Seth, because of Crackerfarm's picture of it, videos of it, etc. It's just the perfect southern front porch. Shade trees, screen door, the chairs, Seth lives there Sticking out tongue
It looks just like my grandparent's porch where the family used to gather to play. But I'd take Scott or Jim's porch, Jim's woodshop, any of their living rooms, or that old gas station. I'm just sure these locations are where you'd hear them unlike anywhere else. I mean in I&L&Y don't they just look like they're having a blast in that living room?

this will probably never happen but im just dreaming.

Robert Earl Keen followed by Todd Snider followed by TAB at Merlefest.

of course it would be awesome if they were on one of the smaller stages.

Low anthem, Langhorne Slim, Punch Brothers, Radiohead, and then the Avett Brothers play their entire discography

How about a dream festival? I simply don't think I could choose just a few artists for a single show.

However, I'll keep it short:

The Kooks, Ryan Adams, The Black Keys, Manchester Orchestra, and of course the Avett Brothers (I agree with Zach, their entire discography would be lovely)

Neil Young in my living room. Solo set followed by a full on, feedback soaked set with Crazy Horse! I've seen a lot of dream shows, but now I'm dreaming the impossible dream.

Radio City was pretty darn close, and that was reality......

In my dreams, I'll take what Shawna's having. Add Bonnie, sitting around the living room like the family gospel album.

On May 7, 2005 at Ziggy’s, in Winston-Salem, I saw Darrell Scott followed by Robert Earl Keen and topped off with the Avett Brothers. It was close to your dream show and it was a very small stage. It was one fun night.

An Avett dream show?
Affordable for travel in my area. That's it.
(Maybe someday.)

@uponcripplecreek...it's funny. I was just remarking to a friend the other day how The Devil Makes Three remind me of OCMS mixed with TAB...but maybe morsel with The Reverend Horton Heat. I'd love to see OCMS too. It's a pleasure I've need been able to enjoy. As expected, all the responses have been great.

The Avett brothers, Vampire weekend, band of horses, muse, james taylor and less than jake hahah, I dream big

Blanche, The Greenhornes, The Raconteurs, The White Stripes and The Avett Brothers playing in my aunt and uncle's backyard. They have a lovely backyard that backs onto an urban ravine full of deer and coyotes. We will even get the proper permit and wave it in front of the jerk who complained about the noise from a previous Canada Day bbq/concert.... (Dude lived across the ravine and called the cops saying he was being assaulted. He drove over, came into the yard and hijacked the microphone. Six cops showed up in response to his call...luckily no one was really being assaulted that night.)

I was there too! It was so fun. One of my first concerts. I was 5 or 6. I was more of a REK fan than a TAB fan though.

Heres my dream festival.

OCMS
Ryan Adams
REK
Todd Snider
Ryan Bingham
TAB

And again playing their whole discography

I couldn’t get into Robert Earl that day. The sound guy could not seem to get the mix right and I could not hear the lyrics. I spent most of his set hanging out with Bob and the brothers in that little courtyard in front of Ziggys, eating gingerbread and drinking punch from that Jamaican guy that had a stand there. I loved that most of the crowd had no idea who the Avett Brothers were. I heard more than one remark “who are these guys? They are stealing the show.”
By the way Ranford, you stole the show Friday night. You had the crowd rocking out at the end of Laundry Room. Congratulations.

Hendrix playing lead with OWAN, opening for Nirvana.

My dream show would have to be some type of music festival because I have way too many bands for it. Headliner would probably be some type of Maynard James Keenan project. Performing throughout the day would be John Mayer, Death Cab For Cutie, The Avett Brothers, One Eskimo, AC/DC, As Talls As Lions, Bob Dylan, and probably ZZ Top. Yes, this is an insane, never-gonna-happen, lineup. But hey, what are fantasies for?
