Add another Top 10 list to...well, the top 10 list. Time Magazine named "I and Love and You" as one of their Top 10 albums of the year.

Congratulations and thanks for such a great album.

Greatness is before you - accept it because you deserve it and more!

2009 was a fantastic year and 2010 is just beyond your grasp. Avetts continue to perservere and demand. For what is yours and more will be yours if you believe.

Have a wonderful Christmas. May God continue to bless all of you and your families.

There was a dream and one day I could see it. So, like a bird in a cage I broke in and demanded that somebody free it. And there was a kid with a head full of doubt, so I'll scream 'til I die or the last of those bad thoughts are finally out.

Was introduced to you via the Fallon show - Nov. 30. Seriously had not heard of you prior to that night and I rarely watch Jimmy, so it was great to see your performance - outstanding! Have gotten the album and love it.

Funny. Reminds me of fond memories of discovering Replacements or REM or Melvins or Mudhoney back in the 80's. Happy to relive that again with your music.

I'm a bit out of your target demographics - rocking into my 40's, but long time lover of quality music and you really are on to something.

Please make your way back to Seattle soon!

I'm glad that everyone else is finally realizing what a gift the Avett Bros are to the music world!

Glad to know I was at least a little ahead of the curve Eye-wink

You guys deserve all of the respect and recognition that you get...especially for the new album. It's great to see a band grow and change the way you all have. I love your older stuff and I think I and Love and You is amazing. It is a change from your past records, but there is nothing wrong with that. I like what you guys are doing keep up the great work. Can't wait to see you in Reno!

...burning the midnight oil...he doesn't even have his shirt off yet.

I've got the wheels...

Best of a lifetime, I'm sure of it.

TAB! What a great circle this is...

I bought tickets for the auditorium. I saw that we would be allowed early entry because we bought before they moved the show to a larger venue, but i have yet to see the details posted. When will the details be posted?

I'm with you Toronto fan, because I am also a Toronto fan and took my 19 yr old to the 'Shoe to see them.
I discovered the Avett Brothers from Youtube and some random list of alternative music over a year ago. Paranoia In B flat caught my attention and I loved the scenes from their concerts, so when they came to Canada I had to go.
Spent the past year before "I and Love and You" discovering the old and I think that it's amazing that they are so diverse and they are not tied to a studio- they can actually sing and play anywhere anytime.

I have 5 different versions of Laundry Room- because the real key to loving the Avett's is their performance. Each version is a bit difference and that's why they are so infectious. The studio album is a bit too smooth, but the music still holds up and like Blue Rodeo, the key is always the live performance- that's where the fans become fanatics and I am going to drive to Ithaca in the middle of winter to see them.

Very happy to see that more people are discovering them. The true core of fans know it's all about the concert experience and that will never change!! Congratulations guys!!

"...decide what to be and go be it..."

It is very nice to see TAB being recognized in this manner. Looking forward the NYE Show.

You guys deserve it. Mind you, I would have had Emotionalism in the top 10 of the decade and I and Love and You in the 20s, but what do I know. You guys are amazing.

And longsfortheold's comment is very rude.

As a very new fan, I have to say that were it not for the name Rick Rubin being associated with the band, I would never have taken a second look/listen. Thanks to youtube I have been able to see what the older stuff is all about and I can see great stuff in the older music but also in the new stuff.

Too bad I only found out about The Avett Brothers after their gig at The Horseshoe in Toronto back in September. All I can say is, when you plan your tour dates for the summer - come back to Canada.

And for anyone looking for some great Canadian music - check out Blue Rodeo, Kathleen Edwards and Sarah Harmer (who sounds surprisingly like Bonnie Avett on Swept Away).

You guys definitely deserve these honors and it makes me proud to be a fan! Congratulations!

i think you guys have done an amazing job, i keep listening, relating, and loving.
so congrats to you all!

Congratulations for all the honors you fellas are receiving. You're more than deserving of all accolades. I am so glad you and your music exists.

To trust. To hope. To care.

Emotionalism garnered the #10 spot on the Top Ten Albums of the Decade list as chosen by the readers of Paste magazine. Worth noting that your songwriting and style have been recognized in older records as well.

Congrats guys!
