Plenty of tix on Ticketmaster. See y'all there!

We missed out on the presale (took about 2 seconds to sell out), but got a couple today on ticketmaster. Can't wait to see them again!!! Merry Christmas to my wife and our liitle boy on the way.

what a few days of torment! got tics. today, this is going to be a long TWO months, but they are well worth the wait. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ME!

Wow! I knew they sold out fast, but I never even thought about scalpers buying them up. I'm one of the lucky ones and got 4 for the 30th and I'm soooo excited. Good luck to the rest of you.

Tix on sale Friday at noon. Price on TM says $61 which includes their fee.

Tickets go on sale at 12:00 EST, I believe. Just like today which makes me nervous as today did not go so well! Good Luck!

Laffertys, you hit the nail on the head, the guys deserve it! I saw them twice this year in Detroit and left the show in awe both times. The second show was right after their European tour- the boys were exhausted but still amazed our crowd! Sincerely hoping to score tickets this Friday so I can take my sister, a singer-songwriter and Avett Virgin.

P.S. to my last comment: One earlier commenter said something about this type of scalping activity being reserved for the superstars. You will find the online "brokers" selling tickets to almost any concert, sporting event or arts event. But I think that commenter is probably right, and that this particular type of activity - scooping up tix as soon as they go on sale, then immediately putting them online for several times face value - has to mean that (a) the secret is out and the band has truly arrived, and (b) the scalpers are really confident of a big sellout for both concerts. That's the good news, and the guys really deserve it. The bad news is, a lot of us still have no freakin' tickets! Maybe Friday, hopefully.

BTW, does anyone happen to know whether this might be one of those deals where only the floor tickets are general admission (and GA was all that was "available" on the presale), but Ticketmaster will be selling reserved seats for the rest of the arena? Not that anyone will sit, no one did in Raleigh, and probably no one ever does at an Avett concert. Anybody who has been to one of these before in Asheville can probably answer that question. Hello, fellow Avett-heads! Hoping to make the drive up from the hallowed city of Concord for NYE. Many of us are in the same boat. Very frustrating. I'll bet the brothers will be livid when they hear about this, if they haven't already. Probably they'll put something on the site. Doubt there was anything they could've done, though. I think these "brokers" (scalpers) use automated buying programs and probably were logging on from multiple computers to circumvent the 4-tix limit. Those of you who managed to beat them and were successful today were pretty lucky. Hopefully the rest of us will have better luck w/Ticketmaster Friday. Not sure what the presale fees were going to be, because I never got that far, but the downside with Ticketmaster is that their fees have really gotten out of hand lately. But that's a lot better than buying from the scalpers, so PLEASE don't give any of those people your money unless it becomes your absolute last resort. Hopefully Ticketmaster will have plenty of tickets, at least for all of the diehards. I haven't checked the capacity and haven't been there before, but it must be a pretty big place because I think that's where Elton John (I know, just an ordinary musician by Avett standards) is playing. And since it appears to be general admission, it shouldn't be a big deal (except to the lucky first 30 from today) as long as we all just find a way to get in the door. The Laffertys

thanks to my wonderful husband..we got two tickets for the NYE show..We were there last ,and it was just amazing..so excited!!! WOOOHOOO!!!

The Avetts in Asheville around Christmas/NY is our annual tradition--this would be the third year we've seen them. Hope I can get tickets on Friday! If they sell out within a minute again, something seriously fishy is going on....

*sigh* I kind of miss the days when they rocked out at the Orange Peel....

It is too bad there are a thousand tickets in the hands of scalpers right now, I expect this from ticketmaster but unfortunately this system has been hacked as well. At least we live in asheville and can go stand in line...

Lame, I imagine a few companies or individuals bought all of them to sell back to the fans at a higher price. There's no way they could all sell out in a matter of three seconds. We were really excited by this now it's just disappointing.

I cannot believe I got the tix. And no one I know is even a fan. Maybe I'll just take my 8 year old. He loves good music:)

WTF! How many Presale Tickets were even available? At 11:59, it said on sale soon and at 12:00, they were sold out. Very disappointed!
