One tree Hill
Does anyone remember "If It's the Beaches" on Gray's Anatomy? Didn't seem to hurt their cred with these haters then. Or maybe they just started following the band and they want to be the last one on the bandwagon. Popular does not equal sell out. Bob Dylan has written and still writes pretty well, he's also sold a few albums and been in movies and on commercials. And he still tours! That's what I want from TAB.

ONE TREE HILL
Yes, One Tree Hill is cheesy but it has always featured great music and even showcases the music at the end of each episode. I'm excited that more of the World gets to see and experience something that I love, which is the music from this wonderful band. I've never known one person to hear them play, and dislike their music so I'm super excited to see that they're getting exposure. I also think that if you're a true fan of the boys, then you can't be anything but excited for these guys and all the success that's coming their way. They deserve it. There's never been another band that has made music that has affected me as much the The Avett Brothers and I hope that more people can have that experience. Love you guys!!!
The Article was great too!!!
One Tree Hill
Wow! Really don't like that show at all, but being the loyal Avetts fan, I watched. Took them forever to get to your fantastic song! I did get to pass the time with Willie's "Angel," though. Good company! All in all, another victory for the Avett Nation! Go Boys Go!
worth the wait
i have to say that i've never watched an episode of one tree hill, but i did sit through the entire hour just to hear I and Love and You. don't think i'll ever watch the show again. unless, of course, you bribe me with an avett brothers song. i'm so happy for the success you boys are enjoying. i knew you guys were something special when i saw you at philly folk fest in 2005 for the first time. keep on keepin on, fellas!
much love,
ruthie.

Great article
Enjoyed reading the article and all the background. Have enjoyed following
our NC guys as they have grown. As a NC native, it is the best place to call
home. We love you, Avetts Brothers.
Sweet
So excited for One Tree Hill!
Shuffle article
I DVR'd the episode of One Tree Hill. My wife watches it. I watched it with her when it was a brand new show and it was actually kinda okay then. I have to admit it is just weird now. However, the song made the end of the episode. The rest of the show seemed fake and contrived, but the end seemed sincere, and believable. I think it's another testament to the power of the boys' music.
The article in Shuffle was awesome. A great read. Really opened the doors of the Avett family for the new and/or casual fans to get a glimpse of how they became who they are. And as any fan knows, who they are is such an integral part of their music. Congrats gentlemen on another glowing review and even more positive exposure regardless of what anyone else has to say about it.

johnny come lately
To all the people that are hating on the success of the guys I have to wonder if you even get anything about what these guys do. Admitingly in 2003 when I picked up carolina jubilee and the curve cds at pucketts in derita I was suspicious of the of the route these guys were taking there music. Took about a day realize that I was a moron, it was the same love songs writen by the same fellas that couldn't get enough of. Its been a wonderful ride, and what's exciting is ,these guys are in the infantsy of there musical destination. Can't wait, thanks guys, jN brandy
I <3 the avetts bros on OTH!
Anyone who is railing on the Avett Bros for getting their song out there on good old One Tree Hill can go Brooke themselves! ha! congrats guys!
sweet article
That article was so awesome... nice to know the boys are so humble.
Great Show, Great Song
One Tree Hill is a soapy show, yes, but it also has a lot of heart. It is the longest running television series to be filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina and employs many local North Carolina residents. It is a far intellectually deeper and significant show than any of the other typical CW shows.
The show has consistently been a platform for great music and is known for helping to break indie artists on the big scene. The Avett Brothers apparently are proud, and should be proud, to be featured on such on a show. The exposure will open them up to many new fans and in a way that does not risk the integrity of their art. Those of you who are too elitist to watch the show, and therefore support the band, are the only ones embarrassing themselves.

i love the picture and the bandanna family values are everything

One Tree Hill? Really?
Is this for real? I'm kind of disappointed to see this. I've been a fan for a couple of years now...saw you twice in CA this year, once in Iowa, and I have tickets to your New Year's show in Asheville where my folks live. I never, and I repeat, NEVER, thought I would see the Avett name so commercialized. Your music and your message is so pure and I'm a little confused as to why you chose such a ridiculously petty and juvenile show to get involved with.

Dude
I'm a 28 year old, bearded, heavily tattooed man and I must admit I watch One Tree Hill regularly. I was born and raised in Wilmington, where the show is filmed, and often see shooting around town. The actors in the show live here for most of the year and are often seen around town. I have run into a few on occasion and they couldn't be nicer. In addition, a number of the shows stars are active in the community doing great things through charity work. Admittedly, the show at times is a bit teeny bopperish, but it also has some truly great values intertwined, family, honor, trust, love. From the beginning, the show has boasted a very solid soundtrack, to include the likes of Ryan Adams, Bon Iver, Lucero most recently, amongst countless other fine acts. I am as big an Avett Brothers fan as anyone and I want the world to feel as touched as I have been hearing their music. The exposure is a necessary stepping stone and One Tree Hill is a wonderful stage. For all the closed minded "sell-out" conspiracy theorists out there....get over yourself and quit being so selfish. The goal of any artist is to be seen, heard, appreciated by as many people as will listen. And the music has not suffered as a result. I and Love and You is a beautiful album and until the music begins to lose it's spark, we don't have a problem. Tarheel Love......
I've never
and I mean never watched One Tree Hill. But I did last night. It made no sense as a result, but whatever. Avett Love.
There's only one thing here worth hoping for
I made my husband
watch this episode and was told: "You can buy a thousand dollars worth of Avett merchandise; just don't make me watch this ever again." Done Deal!!
One Tree Hill
I never watch this show... but I did last night, just to hear your song!
P.S. that show is kind of strange.
I haven't eyes for anyone else, I'm thinking of you, and nobody else
great
I watched, listened, i am reading now and love it all. congrats
Really?
I suppose It's just my opinion that I don't want to see you all featured on such a pop-TV show. But I understand that these things happen. And, that your ultimate goal is most probably to spread the beauty of your music to as many listening ears as possible. But when you are featured on a show like that, it seems that your music would become inextricably linked to its content as well.
This album (and all the others) stands as a testament to your growth and success. And most important, it is able to stand ALONE as a remarkably creative and enduring collection.
Your music will definitely be the best thing about that show when it airs. But One Tree Hill wants The Avett Brothers to boost ratings. You all don't need the CW. Ha.
Either way, Congrats! I just hope I don't see you used as ambient noise on a 'Real World' episode. But if I did, it still wouldn't change how profound you are.
Always listening,
-J
Burn the questions, burn the shame.
Excellent
Awesome article! Loved it !

Reece got sprayed with turkey s***......hahahahahaha.....good god
There was a dream and one day I could see it. So, like a bird in a cage I broke in and demanded that somebody free it. And there was a kid with a head full of doubt, so I'll scream 'til I die or the last of those bad thoughts are finally out.
Just Minutes Late!
I love how i read this 15 mins after the show has ended in NY- GO ME!
One Tree Hill
The song was woven so well into the end of the show and sounded great!
Why do so many of your fans want to keep you to themselves? One Tree Hill does highlight great national musicians, and tonight is guaranteed to bring new fans into the fold. You go guys!
Hey! Come to Toledo!!!
Not just for me....my wife is the Promotions Director for the Toledo CW affiliate, WT05. It would be so cool to have the Avetts visit, promote One Tree Hill!!! I know it's a stretch...but you never know!!!!
Tonights Show
While it was torture to sit through an entire episode of that show, it was AWESOME hearing, “I and Love and You” in its entirety on such a big stage! Congrats, love the new CD.
Awesome....!!!
Way to finish the episode....well placed..this will do the boys good!
O.K!!!! I panicked!
It's on!!!!!!
One Tree Hill and NO Avetts?
What the heck? All the build up and no Avetts???? What gives?
One segment left...maybe they'll get the closing?
One Tree Hill???
I love you guys but I wouldn't watch that show if my own mother was in it. Sorry mom.
She'll be drinking someone elses rye, when I'm six feet below.
And it spread......
You guy's just keep spreading the love......that's what it's all about!!! I will watch the show just to hear your song...Great job guy's!
congrats
It's kind of funny that such a deep and meaningful song is going to be on such a shallow, meaningless show. (sorry to all you one tree hill viewers) Congratulations, brothers.

haha
nice, Jeremy.
God forbid that they should try to get any exposure. I mean, hello, they recorded this album with the hope of getting no new fans. Isn't that what all bands do??

Wish me luck, I know you think I'll need it.

I <3 NC
North Carolina represent!
Seriously, the Avetts in One Tree Hill.
A Band from the Old North State featured in a show also based in North Carolina. Gotta love it.
Also, I'm not gonna lie, One Tree Hill is one of the few "teenage soap opera" shows I watch. I've been watching it since it came on TV when I was in high school and I'm kinda hooked. One really quality thing about the show, though, is they always feature great music. I have heard some of my not-very-well-known favorite bands on the show before and that's always fun.
Anyone who is making fun of these guys for having a song on a CW show...seriously? I mean, its getting their music out. That's what matters. Would you pass up the same opportunity?
Can't wait!
Awesome!
I think it is great!! An NC band being featured on a show filmed in NC. Pretty awesome if you ask me! Way to go guys!

It's not where I am, it's who I'm with...
OK
Hey LaBradley, the guys did check their Facebook comments and they immediately pulled the song. They decided they were content with just having you as a fan. Your plan worked.

thanks for listening.
thanks for listening.
Can't wait!!
I'll be tuning in, for sure.
Keep your heads down, don't listen to nobody else!!!

Something has me being like someone I don't wanna be...
It seems as though there is no destination for us… just a passing through and a disappearing when it is our time.
I will be watching.
You guys are they only thing that can get me to watch that show.
Love the Shuffle cover. I would love a physical copy...to bad I live NY instead of NC..
PUBLICITY IS PUBLICITY AND THIS SHOW HAS A GREAT MUSIC TRACK RECORD
Check out this link. I'm not a One Tree Hill fan but my wife watches it enough that I know the soundtrack to the show is never bad. Look how many Ryan Adams songs are on there! It would be different if they were fighting to share time with Britney Spears new album, but I have to say this (and CW's Gossip Girl and NBC's Chuck) probably has one of the best soundtracks on television. I would look at it as an honor and a great promotional tool rather than a sellout. Puppies don't stay puppies forever.
