I have to say I am torn…on one hand I am sad about the after-the-fact venue change, but I am happy for the boys that they are getting that big and have such a high demand for tickets…
I love TAB, always will. I don’t think that the boys are greedy in any way. I think they are very pure, good people, who truly care about their fans. I do however feel that major record labels can be greedy regardless of what the performer(s) really wants, but that’s a discussion for another time.
I think that it is only fair they offer us the choice of a refund if we bought tickets for Thomas Wolfe. I have gone to many TAB shows and will again in the future, but these tickets where fairly pricy for me. I paid it because of the venue, experience, and the band. If this show had been planned for the Civic center originally, I don’t think the tickets would have been as expensive. And if they were, I don’t think I would be attending.
Now, even if they offer a refund, I won’t accept it. I will still go to the show because I already have my non-refundable plane ticket back to NC booked, hotel, as well as my ride back home to Wilmington. But I would just like them to offer it as a sign of good will towards their fans, for all of us that sat online fighting with the crappy presale problems and then again that Friday with slow Ticketmaster. Also, if they do offer a refund then there is no longer any reason for people to be angry about this change.
I am very happy for all the fans that were unable to get tickets before and now have a chance to attend. But at least they know what they are paying for ahead of time.
Like I said, I am torn…See ya on NYE! :-/
