my tough '94 nissan altima got totaled last winter by a sweet little old man who ran his stop sign. prices for decent used cars convinced me it might be the time to try out buying new, not to mention shopping at the end of the month, having a connection at the honda dealership, and the desperation of lots trying to clear space- all helped me get a new little honda Fit. it's turned out really great so far, great gas mileage (I drive a lot. I'm already way over the "average" amount of miles for the year" and actually a lot more room than one expects from how it looks on the outside (as a 6'3 generously limbed man, i have plenty of headspace.) won't win any races but the payments aren't too terrible, it gets me where i'm going and i'm hoping will last me a long long while if i treat it sweetly.
