I had it mispronounced the first time I heard about them as well. The Avetts actually joke about the common mispronunciations on Live at the Doubledoor. Its not a common name (at least anywhere I've been) and its just going to be one of those things that happen. I wouldn't let it offend me too much, at least they're getting some exposure!
