Here are my thoughts:

Man have the Avetts matured. They are playing better than I have ever seen them. Their instrumental and vocal skills have developed immensely. I took some newbies with me to the show and their first comments were that they sounded just like they do on the albums. And they did, it was great (of course it was still spontaneous and organic)..

There song writing both lyrically and instrumentally is phenomenal. This album is like the jump from "A Carolina Jubilee" to "Migonette". A metamorphosis of sorts. They are just musically brilliant and can't help but bring new sounds into their lives.

The show was awesome, the venue was great, and I am over joyed that they came to our town, Chattanooga, TN! I can't help but think that my friend influenced that decision last year when he yelled for the them to come to Chattanooga at one of their Knoxville shows. If it didn't Avetts just lset me dream, let me dream.

p.s. which as a side not I heard a lot of in the songs at the show. Dreaming.
