Well I wish that I could sit here in my barracks room and state to you all how I listened to the Avett Brothers and fell instantly in love but in my situation that’s not the case. I was introduced to the Avett Brothers through one of my exes in the summer of ‘08 by the song “If it’s Beaches”. I instantly fell in love with that song and started to look into some other songs for a day and didn’t find anything that caught my interest and that was it. I listened to the song “If it’s Beaches” over and over I love that song because I believe it portrays the meaning of love, commitment and what most girls dream for.
It wasn’t until I went home on leave this last July (summer 09’) to visit PA that I really fell in love with the Avett Brothers. I was listening to the same music over and over and my brother said you need some new music now. I down loaded most of The Avett Brothers’ albums and I have not stopped listening to them since. There music has changed my brothers life literally and I hope he doesn’t mind me saying all this but some of my most cherished memories while home were watching him play the avett brothers music while sitting around a bon fire. I have not been to a concert yet , I would love to go to one because from what I have heard and been reading they are even better live. Not sure when I will be able to get time off from the Army to travel but I believe I will make that my mission, that and make someone else fall in love with the avett brothers down here in TX so I can have them tag along. : )
In my opinion The Avett Brothers are so great due to the fact there is no one else out there like them. I can’t stand listening to the radio anymore because it’s a guessing game you could go through so many bands trying to guess who is playing that particular song, why because they all sound the same. Not only do there voices sound the same there style and lyrics are all very similar. It’s an embarrassment to our society some of the songs that are out there and what there lyrics state, some bands can sing about such meaningless things. The Avett Brothers though they are truly amazing I love there unique style, the way they portray there feelings into a song, how each song has got there own little trade mark and how I feel like in just about every single song I can relate. Some songs just blast me back into the past and remind me of so many things, I love it. THE AVETT BROTHERS ARE JUST AWESOME!!!
