I'm a fan (and you should be too) because for me, the Avett's music restores that often-allusive "feeling of feeling". When my days feel blunted or I forget what it feels like to love or experience deeply, I can always count on the Avett's music to re-instill the feeling of my most beautiful day, or my greatest heartbreak, or the deep connection I feel to my family. Their songs basically remind me of my hopes, fears, regrets and loves, all those things which make me--and all us-- human. Above all us, though, I feel just plain closer to God when I listen to their songs, experiencing something both worldly AND intensely spiritual. I'm by no means the most religious of girls, but listening to these brothers, it's as if a bond is created between myself and both mankind and something greater; briefly, I feel at peace with both life and whatever follows.

I wish all the time I could thank the Avetts, and the rest of their crew, for giving me--and all their fans--the gift of their music. I hope they realize the legitimate good they do with it. I hope they never let that change; I feel sure they won't.
