I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... I first saw the Avett Brothers play at the Tractor Tavern in Seattle about 3 or 4 years ago. I had been listening to Mignonette (recommended by a friend) over and over and over again for the past couple months. The Tractor was the perfect place to see these guys for the first time! Small place, packed house, tons of energy and emotion. Anyways... after the show we were all sitting on the stage drinking beer and the guys all came back out and just started chatting it up with everybody. They were thanking us over and over, gave us hugs and everything. As if the music wasn't reason enough to love this group... they were all so damn cool. I saw them 3 or 4 times in Seattle and now live in the Charlotte area. I went to the show at Bojangle's Coliseum the other night and had the same exact feeling as I did years ago. From 75 people 2,500 miles from home to over 6,000 in their home state... not an ounce of sincerity lost along the way. Good humans, that's for sure.
