I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... The Avett Brothers fuse different genres of music and somehow, against all the rules, make them sound seamless. I never knew there was music out there that incorporated folk, rock, and roots influences. Their music is set to intricate, intriguing, and beautiful lyrics that suck you in and demand your full attention. You want to listen to them over and over to try to get a grasp at what they're trying to say. Sometimes they make you want to get up and dance and sometimes you can't help but shed some tears.
I was introduced to them through the Garden and Gun magazine and I have been hooked ever since. I am late yes, but better late then never, good music goes on and on and can be enjoyed for many years to come. I have set my indie cd's aside and have dove in head first to the roots music, the article rekindled in me a love for my southern roots. I did grow up on Alison Krauss and fell in love with Nickel Creek and later Cadillac Sky but strayed, I'm coming back....haha. (My mother has also become a fan.)

Will you forget when we have paid our debts,
who did we borrow from, who did borrow from?"

Sending prayers for your family and Hallie. St. Jude's is a wonderful place; you're in good hands, theirs and the Creators.
