It was in the wake of my divorce that I found the music of The Avett Brothers. I was self-destructive and willingly throwing away my goodness because so much had been taken from me and I couldn't make sense of any of it. The Lord helped me regain myself worth. Their words and melodies, accompanied later by handshakes and a truthful look in the eye, helped me regain my trust in the one thing that makes this life blissful... Love.
It's been a few years now, and I stand in their audience absolutely blessed knowing I'm standing next to the woman I will love for the rest of my life... and who loves me as much in return.
