No such thing as a bad Avett album. They just don't exist. Is the product of "I&LOVE&U" what I had built up in my mind, as I waited anxiously for the release? No. But not bad. It's gotta be tough to outdo every album. The Boys from Conchord have consistantly one upped themselves with every release......til now. Still when compared to other non-Avett offerings out there this is a solid album, if not spectacular. I anxiously skimmed it for "Skin and Bones" a song I first heard in Indy at The Vogue this year, and was disapointed to not find it.
I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...First blood was "Matthews" I heardit and have been hooked every since. I love bluegrass and country music. Their stuff had elements of that "traditional, Appalachian, americana, homegrown" sound. I just was glad to hear someone playing a banjo, and people finding that kewl. I always thought the5 strings were kewl but felt overwhelmingly in the minority there. Anyway i have now seen the boys in 4 different states, and will see them again soon and i cannot wait!!!

When you say that you love me, I don't know what you mean, but it seems like I should.
I like your idea of a country-esque Stones tune knuclehead...."Sweet Virginia" is stripped down to basics and witht he harmonies for 3...i think that would be perfect...
Matthews it's not even close with me...i like the way the original is not quite perfect, if anything it is underproduced and raw and raucous. Yup Matthews.
This was a super kewl idea a few things jumped right to mind...
