I became a fan of the Avett's in the fall of 2008 - I'd never heard of them before that.

I was going through some "best of" lists and saw them listed for "Emotionalism". As I'm lucky enough to work in a cubicle environment where many of my coworkers (on many floors) share music through itunes over the computer network, I'd seen them listed on a shared library and gave them a listen.

My musical tastes tend to run to Alt-country, folk, classic rock, and some alt-rock. They seem to run rough-shod all over these (and other) genres, and I loved them immediately.

I've got all their albums (as well as some live shows i've found online legally). I'm happy to report that I've got tix to see them live for the 2nd time...

If you appreciate bands such as Wilco, the Beatles, the Band, and others who meld styles and make them their own, you owe it to yourself to give them a listen. And keep listening...
