Another great show and another great opening act.

The last Avett Brother's show I was at Slims in San Francisco, it was packed and rowdy. What a welcome change to have them in my local theater again. Imagine a polite small town theater at less than half capacity where you could hear a pin drop after the applause between songs. Every eyeball exposed to the stage every ear perked anxiously waiting for the next song and I swear the time between the songs felt like forever. So we sat on the edge of the those old theater seats, counting sweat drops from Scott's head in slow motion waiting for the finger tips picks to touch the brand new banjo strings and for Seth to saunter back up to the mic and when they did it was an eruption of what could only be described as pure volcanic emotion. New songs, old songs, every tune was met with great appreciation from the small crowd gathered there.

Was it intimate? Yeah.
Was it peaceful? Yeah.
Was it energetic and powerful even when it was just Seth playing the ballad of love and hate? Of course! What else would you expect from the Avett Brothers?
