Took a bus from Lexington KY. First Avett show.BEST TIME OF MY LIFE!
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Bunch of us drove up from Philly and man would I have been disappointed reading reviews knowing what I would have missed had I not made the trip! Nicole Atkins, paleface, langhorne slim....and that's the guest lineup. This show was righteous and those luck enough to bear witness to it sure do have one for the memory bank. The crowd was amped up from the start, which could have been due to the overcrowed bars in the immediate 3 block vicinity pre-show. Got to hear Blue Ridge Mountain Blues and Where have all the Average people gone which was great. The harmonizing of the brothers voices' was especially clear. I'm guessing the show was somewhere a little under 3 hours, and covered a hell of a lot of songs 25+.
Thanks so much, I'm so gracious that I got to see this show!
The Seth/Slim duo on Sweet Olive Tree was a personal highlight.....the sound was just so damn good in that venue.

OMG great show!!!!!!! I saw you guys in Silverton a month ago which was awesome but this show was AMAZING!!! Nicole Atkins?!?!?! I love the version of Swept Away that you did with her last Halloween and I pretty much DIED when I found out that she was there last night! Best performance I've heard! The sound was amazing and the show went on for TWO AND A HALF HOURS! Hopefully you'll come back to NYC more often - we LOVE you up here!!!
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Boys,
Great show tonight! Can't wait until you come back to NYC. God bless and be safe.
Re: Radio City Music Hall
I have been to every Avett show in NY since 2008, including the Stuyvesant HS Auditorium show. Amazing to watch you guys come so far. My whole family loves you --My dad (50, Duke Energy) and little brother (18, youtube: 200000028) met you guys at MerleFest and Manifest Discs this year. My dream is to meet you guys in person as well--you are such a big part of our lives--but until then I will keep spreading the Avett love in NYC. CONGRATS on RCMH -- NY is no longer a closed fist!

Re: Radio City Music Hall
Dear Seth, Scott, Bob and Joe,
I am going to get my sister in TN. I will make sure we listen to "The Traveling Song" 'cause "we are headed North", to get my other sister in NYC. Hoping Brooklyn will take us in .... then the BIG show at Radio City Music Hall. For this trip we are , "Nothing short of Thankful". We will be very well behaved and there will be no, "Talk of Indolence". I am sure once we are there....we might wonder "where have all the average people gone".I hope I do not get sick and have to go to "St. Josephs" hospital in NY. There is no "Shame" in this trip , although a little "Paranoia" ....hoping that I am not a victim of a "Murder in the City". Anyway, I would drive anywhere to see you...even "If its the Beaches". ...for that matter...I'd even be "walking for you" ! On our trip south, we will stop in Charlottesville, VA to see you play at the pavilion, and I hope you "Tear Down the House", This is gonna be a long trip but we got "Souls Like the Wheels". "I would Be Sad" if I didn't get to go. Of "All my mistakes" I regret not seeing you in Vegas. While I am gone, my husband shall not visit a "Pretty Girl from Cedar Lane", San Diego, or an airport... you get my drift. OH and "For Today" congrats on the new album. I was so excited that I was "Ill with want" and had a "Kick Drum Heart" . It has "The Perfect Space" on my IPOD. "Ten Thousand Words" cannot even begin to describe how much I love your music. Also congratulations on the "January Wedding". I must say, so far I am going to enjoy "The Fall" just because I am gettting to start it off seeing you! I must go now to finish my chores in the "Laundry Room" since I am leaving for a week to see my Favorite Band in the World!!!!!
"I and Love and You",
A pretty Girl from TN.
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Does anyone know if there is an opening band for this show? Thanks! See y'all there!
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Can't Wait!
Re: Radio City Music Hall
My wife, a friend, and I are traveling to NY from NC just to see the show! Anyone else from NC going to Radio City? See ya there Tarheels!!!
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Can not wait to see them again! My friend and I are riding our sportsters from western Massachusetts to see this show! Going to be a cold ride but well worth it! He introduced me to The Avett Brothers years ago and they have blown up since then. Saw them last at the Newport Folk Festival and can not wait to see this show. Hope to see you all there!!
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Can't wait for this show! I'm bringing 2 of my daughters. We first heard The Avett Brothers their first year at the Grassroots Music Festival in Trumansburg, NY and fell instantly in love with them. My entire family LOVES them (there are 7 of us - ages 13 to 47). So glad they are doing so well.
Gonna be a long Day....
Travelling over from Scotland on the day of the gig! Hopefully get a sleep on the plane so that we are ready for the band..
Re: Radio City Music Hall
This should be awesome!
Woohoo!
I have a ton of tickets if anyone is in need. I was on the phone and online at the same time and got tickets both ways. So PM me if you're interested. Can't wait to see the boys in such a legendary venue!
I am counting down for the best concert ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Got 2 tickets for my sister and I to see them! We saw them in Pittsburgh in May and it was hands down the best concert of my life....and I Have been to a lot of concerts! Cant wait...there energy reminds me why we should all been in tune with our music abilities.
Got my tickets
Got my tickets a bit late but there were some decent balcony seats left so i figured id give those a try. should be a fantastic show, i live near the city but have somehow managed never to see a show at RCMH, so im pretty excited.
Re: Radio City Music Hall
Historic Radio City...beautiful place, beautiful acoustics. I believe The Avett Brothers will have a long, prolific influence on music and their exposure this week at this venue is going to be important in their popularity. Anyone know other stops and spots of theirs while in NYC? WRXP, Letterman, other late night?
I always believed good things happen to good people. Besides their talent, these guys are good people as I was fortunate to meet them after the Lehigh show. Good luck boys!
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Yeah- Dr. Suess
